Story

Port Douglas Physiotherapy has provided quality professional care for the Douglas community since it's establishment in 1998. We currently have two physiotherapists on the team, Sian Grierson and Ian Stobbs.

Sian has been qualified for 30 years and has extensive experience in rehabilitation of most conditions. She covers a broad range of specialties, including the treatment of back, neck, headache and TMJ problems and is a qualified Pilates instructor. Sian's other practice, Clifton Beach Physiotherapy is located in the Clifton Village Shopping Centre in Cairns.

Ian relocated from his home town of Cairns to join Port Douglas Physiotherapy in 2013. He attained his Physiotherapy degree at JCU in Townsville and has a special interest in low back pain, shoulders and sporting injuries. He is qualified in dry needling, for effective release of muscle tension and pain.

Port Douglas Physiotherapy is a BUPA/Medibank preferred provider, is registered with Veteran's Affairs for DVA clients and also offers pensioner discounts.

I  have never had a massage like the one I received from Katyana!!!!! I have had neck problems for years and no one has ever explained to me what caused these. Katyana explained to me the muscles causing my pain and the probable reasons why. It has been a turning point for me and I am now on the hunt for a Remedial Massage Therapist back in Melbourne, who can achieve the results Katyana has for me. My shoulders and neck feel so much freer and the exercises she suggested to me, I will do religiously. Thank you so much Katyana for your help and the relief I am now feeling. I have been seeing Sian Grierson since she opened her practice in 1998.  Over the years Sian has helped in my rehabilitation after I had major knee  and 2 shoulder surgeries.  One of which was done in Sydney and my Surgeon was impressed with the level of physio I was given  I also suffer from other issues and have needed weekly physio for the past 5 years to help manage my back, shoulder and neck pain.  There have been times I have arrived with a bad headache and left with it feeling a great deal better.  If you are looking for a physio that not only cares about treating your injuries, but cares about you as a person, then I would strongly recommend you see Sian!

Mrs Sian Grierson conducted 20min initial assessment for my wry neck, could not do proper joint mobilisation just hold finger on my skin, not qualified for dry needling and no soft tissue therapy. Just showed me how to stretch/adjust my pillow 30sec with couple minutes of poor technique of neck mobilisation and stretching. Not recommended till do more of PD courses to boost clinical expertise/techniques. Receptionist also overcharged me $91 instead of $80 when she realised I am a tourist and heading home the next day.

While on holidays in Port Douglas I hurt my neck. Luckily Port Douglas physiotherapy was open the treatment I received was very helpful and professional. Thank you
