Disappointed with the inability to use our tip trailer to drop commercial rubbish. I understand an employee fell in in 2022, and it raised a health and safety concern, however, for a builder such as myself, not being able to use the tipping facilities creates a larger safety concern with many of the materials being dumped being unsafe to handle by hand; wood covered in rusted nails, broken glass, etc.nI would really like to see some kind of training course available to be completed for users that would allow those who have passed the ability to use the tipping station. I would happily pay for this.
Hello… I would just like to say a huge THANK YOU to Moira and Trevor at the Porirua Landfill. I arrived at 2 minutes to 5 with a trailer load of rubbish after cleaning out our sons rental house in Newlands. We live in Tauranga. I was told that I was too late however after listening to my story, Moira contacted Trevor to see if we could be allowed entry to which he said yes. Basically we had rented the trailer until 6pm. We had nowhere to park the trailer overnight and we were heading back to Tauranga early morning. Trevor kindly backed the trailer in and then proceeded to help with the off loading. The service was exceptional and it was great dealing with friendly dedicated people.
$33 to drop 5 rubbish bags and a couple or garden hedge branches all fitting the boot of family hatchback? Too expensive!! No wonder it was empty on a sunny Sunday afternoon!! Makes me wonder how are people getting rid of their rubbish now?
