If you are missing home, then go to Poppy's. Everything is home made, especially their selection of ice creams. You always get a wonderful welcome and with Poppy a big smile. The food is to die for and portions generous. Go there often enough and you become family. Lots of laughter and happy people.

Sensational ice cream!
This ice cream parlour really does serve handmade ice cream.  We tried the orange and ginger and the hokey pokey and they were both just fabulous!  This is small batch ice cream production at its best without the accompanying inflated pricing!!

Great food and amazing ice cream. Definitely to place to eat if staying in or near Kiakoura. Nice relaxed and casual atmosphere. Will be going back here. Also the owner is absolutely lovely and so friendly. She made an effort to make us feel comfortable and at home. Also if what is being offered that day is what you dislike or you are unsure she will cater to your needs. Hands down best food shop in Kiakoura.

Best homemade ice cream and fabulous food too. Coffee is excellent. Must try the Affogatto with vanilla bean ice cream!

We had the most amazing natural ice-cream in kaikoura this afternoon .. Went there again in the night after dinner and had the most delicious licorice ice-cream..  Poppy and Bruce are wonderful hosts!
