I’ve been to Poppo’s many times over the years, and never had a bad meal in all that time. Without any hesitation, I highly recommend Poppo’s! The menu hasn’t changed much in that time either. They have a excellent balance of common Japanese and Korean meals, most will be familiar with. I’ve tried many of the dishes on the menu, but my favorite meal is the teriyaki Salmon. The main reason is the portion size, it’s very generous! A lot of other restaurants only offer a measly portion, which leaves you unsatisfied, not at Poppo’s! On this visit I also ordered the Dumplings, a serving of rice and three side-dishes to complete my meal. The side dishes are a new option they offer, with serving sizes starting at $1.50. I recommend at least getting one or two of these to complete the meal, but totally up to the individual. Staff are friendly and accommodating with orders. They offer complimentary Barley tea to enjoy with your meal. Prices are as expected for the city, quite reasonable. I will definitely be returning to Poppo’s whether on my own or with a some friends!
Been back after a long time and if anything it's gooten better. The a Korean ramen is highly recommended. Been going here for years. Fantastic Korean and Japanese food and the prices have stayed low over all these years . You can eat for underwear $15 comfortably . In the middle of the CBD ! And it’s also licensed with cheap drinks . Great friendly staff too
I tried many and my favorites are sweet chicken, soba, chicken salad, soon tofu soup, bibimbab, onigiri, chili squid, tofu teriyaki, seafood fried rice and dragon roll . A really nice place to hang out or have a small gatherings because we order and pay separatedly first. Very quick serving, cheap price and the service was nice too. I often come here for under $10 quick lunch!
Dinner sitting with a large group, service is helpful enough but can't recommend. The unagi eel was not seasoned well, sushi bland. A couple in the group had to supplement their meals with fried chicken steak next door.
I ordered a delivery . The portion is very small . The seafood tofu pot only half full . Unbelievable , then the spicy rice cake is too sweet . I asked for extra spicy ....it isn’t spicy at all . Last dish the seafood pancake is over cook ..... I can smell the burn when I eating that..... Horrible food .... not worth to go
You get what you pay for! The prices are reasonable and so is the food. Service is friendly and it's a good place for a quick meal. There are lots of japanese and korean options in the menu. My food was okay but nothing outstanding.
The food here is really tasty, and the price is cheap for what you're getting. Highly recommended for a great Japanese meal.
The sushi was good. The kimchi didn’t taste fermented, not spicy, not attractive. The barley tea is the best out of all!!!!!
Awesome casual place with fast service and affordable, wholesome meals. Many mains are under $10 but are very filling and tasty. Recommend the Katsu Chicken Curry, Katsu chicken Don or beef don.
