We tried Spicy Popo for dinner on a whim and it far exceeded our expectations. The dining area is really fun, warm and welcoming. We got sat quickly, served quickly and had almost no wait for the food. We got the spicy fish stew with added veggies and the fry pot cauliflower to share. It was all fresh and incredible with just the right amount of spicy. We will be coming back many times.
Had a pretty good experience as a first timer here. Service was really attentive and fast. We sat down immediately. The wait time for the house special pot of fish took quite some time, but after it came we were all satisfied. The flavors of the dishes were very authentic and the quantity was large. We will come back again.
Walked passed it after visiting Asian Family Market on a Friday night. Quite a busy place and I decided to look up the menu online. Menu was convincing me enough to go inside and try it! Besides I have been craving for Hot Pot that doesn't break the bank and enough for two people. Waited for about 15-20 minutes for our table to be ready, but it was definitely worth it. The picture of the food says it all. I love spicy food, so I did pick spicy and numbing szechuan fish with beef, lamb, napa, mushroom. Absolutely delicious! The waiter was tentative and friendly, check up on us. We were able to bring home the leftover, thank goodness!! Ended up spending about $50 for 2 people with that hot pot option. I definitely absolutely recommend this place for couples or two people that would love to have hot pot with fish base and doesn't want to break the bank and don't like to waste lots of leftovers.
Been here twice, Food is tasty, the prices are pricey. Expect to pay at least $30/person here. In-person, the fried Rice itself is over $14 and the stonepot starting as $39.99 as of May, 2022. Great use of spice, and very aromatic, delicious. There's for sure Sichuan Peppercorn, so be careful when eating from the soup pot. The spot is pretty Lit too Literally. There's a 10% discount if you pay with cash, so if that make sense for you, do it!
We had the dry pot here as well as peppered chicken. Both were remarkably good to a point that we were surprised. Everyone else in the restaurant seemed to be eating hot pot, usually with fish, so that might be even tastier The atmosphere and presentation made for a great experience. Unfortunately, service is below par, so I can't give it a high recommendation.
Nice authentic Sichuan cuisine. Their fish pot is quite delicious. We ordered the non-spicy version for the kids and it didn't disappoint. The price of some traditional dishes is higher than other local Chinese restaurants similar location and scale, but the portions are generous and the taste has been solid from the dishes we ordered.Dine in: YesOutdoor seating: NoTakeout: YesDelivery: Yes
Amazing Szechuan fish, lively place, friendly staff. They do have levels of numbness and spicy you want. We ordered 1 for each since I had a toddler eating that with me else I would have ordered a 2 spicy. 1 numbess was perfect for me as I could get a good taste of the fish and other meat and veggies2each that comes in it of your choice. Shiny tea Boba tea was really good. They were out of it and had only a little left,so they didn't charge me for it. Good vibe, good service and numbingly good szechaun fish.
What a lovely experience it is coming here. The neon lights, ambience and food is super unique. I had the house special fish with shrimp, beef, mushrooms and boi choy. The cauliflower is so incredibly flavorful.
Been here multiple times, trying to work through the classic dishes menu. The Mapo tofu is a solid A+. Although it doesn't have any beef/pork mince, the tofu chunks are great for sharing and the mala sauce flavors are wonderful. Plus, the leftover sauce works well paired with other dishes such as the popcorn chicken. Moo shu pork was an A-; it's made very well and I only docked points because I expected pancake wraps to come with it. The flavors are mild and not exactly Sichuan cooking, but they're a pleasant contrast against spicier dishes. The Szechuan popcorn chicken was probably a B+. While it was tasty and had a lot of great heat, the chicken was a bit dry, although I've had this issue in other restaurants.
This place is great! It reminds me of the Szechuan Fish restaurant that used to be in the pacific rim plaza in the international district in downtown Seattle. Spicy PoPo special is AMAZING, and the salt and pepper chicken has a very unique and delicious flavor.
