To be honest I was concerned that an all-you-can eat was going to be average so I was pleasantly surprised at just how good Platia turned out to be. The food was hot, quality and brought out in a timely manner. The braised beef stew was a stand out dish, with hints of apple or pear ? but absolutely delicious! The staff are super friendly and a particular mention goes out to the senior member of what I assume is family, he just oozed warmth and his welcoming nature just added to the great atmosphere of Platia. Will I be back...hell yeah, as I can't wait to try some other dishes. Thank you Platia and well done on a wonderful experience!!!
It was my first time to ever eat at a Greek restaurant and I am happy to say that I'm pleasantly surprised! Must I say that the dip is literally the best dip I have probably ever tried and just helped so much with balancing the flavour of the meat. Ordered the platter which had plenty of food, it was such a hearty meal. The service is really good as well! The only downside was that the pork was a little tough to chew but other than that everything was great. Strong recommend if you're looking for something different to try at Ryde.
The skewers are amazing we ended up doubling our order! And that haloumi platter! Delicious! Wasn't a bit fan of the mixed dips although the bread is fantastic! But the fava and the caviar weren't my favourite!
Came here for dinner one night and had a great night, good atmosphere with the live greek music and the food was amazing, the moussaka was so flavourful and yummy definitely one of the best ones ive tried, the lamb souvlaki was so amazing with the herbs and juicy meat with the tzatziki mixed so well. For dessert had the galatoboureko had a nice creamy inside and so flavourful crispy outside definitely would recommend to try the galatoboureko dessert you will thank me later!
Friendly staff with good food. They did actually get our order wrong. But realised their own mistake and quickly brought out our correct dishes. The two wrong orders were on the house so very happy with how they dealt with it. The fish was a tad salty however the lamb was cooked to perfection! Calamari was unique with a generous serving. The grilled haloumi was a tad undercooked for my taste. Bread and dips were amazing. Overall a very satisfying meal.
Good service despite it's a very busy restaurant. The food were so so so yummy. Love the Greek coffee too. The live music there was a bonus!! We've had a great night. Recommended :D
Elegant and nice. OK food, a little long to get mains about half and hour or so. Asked for water twice but non came. The entrees were over priced a little but tasty. Mains were very nice looking but the lamb was too dry for my liking. Overall not too bad, otherwise mains could be improved.
Maybe it’s hit and miss with this place, but for the life of me, I can’t see how it couldn’t be a hit more often. I took my wife out tonight, for a surprise Monday night impromptu date night, and we both got the special $29 all you can eat. We arrived to a surprisingly occupied restaurant for a Monday night, probably about 75% full. The wait person who took us to our table, who I believe was one of the owners, and he was courteous and friendly, and had a bit of an ‘old Greek man’ charm going on. It was probably only 5 minutes after we ordered that the food came out. I must admit, for the price I wasn’t expecting fireworks, but the food was actually really good, and very well prepared. Especially the calamari, which was cooked perfectly; not an easy thing to do. It’s supposed to be all you can eat, but I can’t see how anyone could want to eat all that they give you. There was a whole pile of left over chips, with some bread and dips that we couldn’t possibly finish. We left absolutely stuffed and very impressed. I’ll say it again, I really can’t see how there could be all those low ratings. The service was fantastic, food was delicious, the place had great ambience and I’m looking forward to returning again with more friends and family.
We decided to give this place a try since they had discounts on the entertainment book. We ordered the chicken kev and mixed souvlaki. The meat of both dishes was very dry. The salad in the souvlaki could use more flavour. We think the dishes are overpriced for what we got.
Starter entree and mains were amazing but dessert was disappointing. Lots of different waiters who didn't always know the menu. Great atmosphere
