Had both an evening meal and breakfast here. Very friendly, if a little inattentive staff got the feeling they were new to the business. Great portion sizes, and very tasty food. Cater well for kids also.
If I could give 0 stars, I would. Absolutely atrocious! Had eggs Benedict. Hardly any sauce, egg still raw, old mushrooms tossed in a pan. Disgusting. My partner had a toasty. Flat as can be with no taste at all. Waitress who served the food, was rude. Almost shouting at us to ask who ordered what. Will definitely skip this one and go further down the street.
My wife and I booked a meal for 7-00pm 11/10/2013 and we were pleasantly surprised. The young lady Bridget who took our booking and showed us to our table was very polite and efficient. Ante who took our order and served us was very well mannered and his service was first class. The meal arrived after a very short while and was very enjoyable and to our liking. Highly recommended.
My husband and I booked in for breakfast this morning. Big mistake ! The service, or should I say lack of, was dreadful. I ordered a caramel latte in a mug and a strong flat white coffee in a cup. We got a tasteless caramel latte and a weak flat white coffee in a mug, after taking the coffees back and requesting politely if they could kindly rectify this, the service become less polite and less forthcoming. Our breakfasts, when they eventually arrived, were stone cold. There was no salt or pepper on the table and when we asked if we could please have some, there was no offer of apology for not having some on the table, just a salt and pepper shaker thumped down on the table! When , our plates were collected and I made mention of the fact that our meals were stone cold, although the hollandaise sauce over the smoked salmon was indeed delicious, all I got as a comment was "Oh, sorry about that". Never will we visit this restaurant again, nor will we ever recommend this place to anyone. We paid for a dinner voucher some time ago for our parents, wish we had not done so now !!
Bought a Groupon for starter and 2 mains with a glass of wine each. I will say that staff were fine with the Groupon app issues and were happy to make a cocktail that wasn't on their list. They were also pretty friendly. And the glass of wine each they gave us a bottle. Unfortunately it ends there. Dips were OK, cocktails were pretty bad. Sauces were bad, chicken was low quality, not well cooked and a salad barely any was sliced red onion, mint leaf, and Continental parsley in what I suppose was supposed to be a mustard vinaigrette that mainly tasted of bad olive oil. Neither of us finished our meal, and the decor is pretty bad and in need of repair. Place needs a manager who is willing to fix, and will oversee the staff. Also either fire the person setting the menu/suppliers or the chef, someone is not doing a good job.
We went here as we'd bought a Groupon voucher. It was our first visit and we found the decor pleasant and the staff really friendly and efficient. We shared a trio of dips for entrée which arrived accompanied by a generous amount of warm pita bread, and was very enjoyable. We both ordered the Asian style pork belly with steamed rice and Asian slaw for mains from the specials menu. Unfortunately it was INCREDIBLY salty. Even the rice and slaw couldn't cut through the saltiness and it completely overwhelmed the whole dish to the point where we couldn't finish it. It wasn't enjoyable at all. Had we ordered something different we may have had a better experience but unfortunately we probably wouldn't come back based on this visit.
Bought a voucher for cocktail style mixed platters for 20 people on Groupon and wanted to use it on my hens day last month. The voucher clearly stated that there was only 1 location Glenelg but when we got there our food was apparently in North Adelaide. We didn't know what to do as I had paid for it and we were hungry so we called a cab and got the food delivered to our hotel. Unfortunately, we never received all of the advertised food. The rest of the food was cold and not tasty. The food was certainly not worth the advertised $560 and not even the $149 that I still paid for it. Very disappointed with the entire experience. I did complain afterwards and was promised feedback from their management. It's over a month later and I still haven't heard anything.
I need to share because what I experienced was nothing short of the worst I've ever come across for breakfast and coffee. Here are some points that I'd like to make: -slow service at the counter, the young lad didn't have the capability to comprehend a simple 3 coffee order... and it still came out wrong. -my coffee was bitter and had a yucky taste to it. - my coffee cup, was not clean, it had looked re-used and had filthy marks all over the mug and plate. -there were a pile of dishes behind the counter, this is never a good look. -there were no water bottles in the fridge for use, yet there were at least half a dozen or more scattered behind the counter. -my egg and bacon muffin, what a disaster, it didn't look at all appetising, the hash brown was still soaked in oil and was over cooked... ps have you ever thought about a little bit of garnish?? -my friends meals came out at such varying times and I observed the last meal sit on the serving counter for at least 15 minutes before it was delivered only because I asked - we sat around and talked for some time afterwards, the only plates that were cleared were those at Vacant places, yet I was sat in front of several empty plates until we got up to leave. Overall, not one of my friends had anything nice to say about the food, coffee or attendance of the staff at Plank. I had booked a table a few days prior and one would think you would have enough staff to cope with the average Sunday morning service. The only positive from this morning was the air con. That was on point. I would highly suggest a review of how things are done and have a look at improving the level of organisation. Being in such a wonderful location i hope someone takes note.
Went to the effort of placing a booking for 5 the previous evening for breakfast, and was informed on arrival that it didn't exist which was odd given I had email confirmation from them. Off the menu : Bacon and eggs served on ciabatta. None of the orders included ciabatta, all came with just plain old toast. No explanation. We all thought the standard had slipped.
Very, very limited breakfast only. They don't cook *anything* to order. It's just cereals, muesli, pre-made ham and cheese croissants, I think pre-made egg and bacon rolls too. There might be one or 2 more options like a breakfast frittata. Nice view from tables out front but just not worth it for the menu.
