Food presentation, food serving, ambience, service, menu, price - everything is perfect. I tried one of their Chef's Recommendation. Photo - Red Whiskey Prawns. Tastes really good and spiciness is just right. Spicy Level: Mild. Their staff is friendly and helpful. Will definitely come back.
I recently tried Pla Thong Thai restaurant and it was a total vibe. The atmosphere was so cozy, and the service was top-notch. But the real MVP was the green curry I ordered - it was delicious. The flavors were bold and perfectly balanced, and the portion size was more than generous. I'd highly recommend this spot to any fellow Thai food lovers out there. Plus, the prices were super reasonable which is always a plus. Overall, a solid dining experience. Can't wait to go back and try more of their dishes.
Beautiful, fresh, authentic food. Nice bathroom fitted with disability bars. No stairs. Quite small, but not cramped. Tables altogether in one room, so best suited for parties up to 8 people. Vegetarian options: Extensive vegetarian and vegan menu. Parking: There is a lot of on-street parking. Wheelchair accessibility: Suitable Dietary restrictions: Peanut allergies should probably steer clear as peanut dishes are prepared in the kitchen, but lots of options without gluten, dairy or fish sauce.
I haven't been to any Thailand restaurants for many years. Pla Thong restaurant was pretty decent one. BBQ children starter was brilliant. Coconut soup was fantastic. The special fish was so so, which was too dry and not very tasty.
Came here for a farewwell to Auckland Holiday dinner. Well done to all. The food was excellent. we found the portions perfect abit a slight struggle towards the end. As they are short staffed due to Covid, they still coped nicely especially the two of whom it was their first night. I like the idea of the rice being served in a very large bowl. You just signalled. It was a Monday night and the place filled very quickly. Highly recommended.

The food was good but seriously overpriced for what you get and nothing you can’t get elsewhere. The front of house guy was RUDE and unorganised. The booking was for 8pm, we arrived at 7.45 and got told we couldn’t be seated because the table wasn’t ready and we were 15mins earlier than our booking. Cool. We step outside. 8pm, the table is still not ready so we stand outside the restaurant and watch the table be set. 8.05, the FOH dude is standing at the bar looking at all 15 of us stand outside. My mate had to go inside and ASK if we could be seated, by this time, we’ve already been waiting 25mins to even go in the restaurant. FOH takes half the tables orders and walks away to do something else. Comes back to take the other half’s orders. 45mins go by, it’s now 9.10pm. I ask the waiter how long the food would be, “oh you’re ready for mains”, came the response. Another mate orders tom yum soup without mushrooms, comes with mushrooms. He sends it back because he’s allergic to mushrooms. Less than a minute later they come back with the same bowl so he asks if it was actually changed or not, I see the waiter take the bowl of soup back, FOH dude stops him, tells him something and brings the SAME BOWL OF SOUP back to the table and says he changed it. I SAW HIM STOP THE WAITER AND BRING THE SAME BOWL BACK. Don’t waste your money on this place. Dietary restrictions: They do not take dietary restrictions seriously.
Service: good service. Waitresses were friendly Atmosphere: cosy atmosphere. Tables are close together so you can hear others co conversations Taste: the whisky drunken prawns are amazing Price: 3 courses for 2 people were $120 including drinks
This the Kao Na Ped Duck Fried Rice. It was delicious! The food, music, atmosphere and service was amazing. Kind staff with beautiful attire. Really recommend to anyone keen to explore Thai cuisine near Mount Eden. But also worth the travel if you're keen to drive from far away.
So glad I found this place. It is a small restaurant with a good atmosphere and great food. We tried some scallops recommended by the manager and they were marvellous.
