Must have experience if you are in the area near Waipu or Mangawhai. Pizza s and food to die for. Match that with your choice of award winning beers. Will never feel disappointed. Awesome place for craft beer lovers and all.
The Professor and I were invited to the Barn for dinner. When our small party arrrived we were quickly seated and supplied with menus. No table service. One has to order at the counter but with that done the food and drinks came quickly. We ordered fish and chips and a pizza to share. Suffice to say the food did not last long and another bowl of chips was required when drinks were refreshed. The craft beer was enjoyable and a conversation starter as one tried to pick.out the flavors. Overall a very pleasant evening.
This place is 10/10 Great people and service, fantastic selection of craft beers and the pizza is next level. Over Summer, I don't think they take bookings, so make sure you give yourself a little buffer if it's busy. Enjoy!
Quite possibly the best pizza joint in the North Island. Atmosphere, food, beers made on premises and service are all first class. This is a favourite with my family and many others we know. It’s is always busy so expect to wait a bit, but so worth it. Haven’t had a bad experience here in fifteen years or more.
McLeod’s is a must visit in Waipu. The staff are amazing. They are super friendly greeting everyone as they arrive and thanking them when they leave. The food comes out really fast and is delicious. They have tons of tasty beers to choose from as well. A great spot with a really nice atmosphere.
Great pizza and beer and friendly staff but under staffed for the high season but still high priced.... And apparently the slide is too fast
We stay at Langs Beach whenever we visit from Australia. This place is an institution for the area which we've enjoyed many times over the past 5yrs. Great pizzas with generous toppings and the other menu items mussel chowder & squid are to die for!!! Huge range of craft beers that go down a treat! Staff and owner are very welcoming. This place is a MUST VISIT!!!
Pretty cool place, giving massive rustic barn vibes. Really love the decor comprising of old-fashioned tools/instruments and wall-mounted game heads. The beer is good and the food is quite delicious. Our group had the "Pioneer" pizza like a meatlovers - ham + salami + peperoni + bacon, which was full of flavour and quite scrumptious, the "Longboarder" pizza like a Hawaiian but on steroids, packed with double meat and double pineapple - unfortunately, this one was a bit cold in the middle, the steak was perfectly cooked to order and served with a delicious jus & fries, the chicken burger was good and so was the fish & chips. The only downside is the waiting time - roughly around 45 minutes on a long weekend not really unexpected and happy to wait sipping on a fine cold beer. We do go here every time we're up this way and will defo return!
Great pizza and great beer. The Globetrotter pizza with lashings of gorgeous bacon and venison sausage is sensational. And washing it down with one of the numerous brews on offer from NZ's champion medium sized brewery Mcleods makes this place a must do on any trip that is to, near, or simply goes past Waipu.
Great pizza! Can be verrrrry busy so be prepared to wait - you can order drinks and hope to find a seat while you wait. Friendly staff but could use a few more at the bar etc.
