What a superb find this was! After a soak in the Hot Tubs, we found this cafe in the airfield just up the road. The staff were so warm and welcoming, and we shared some great banter. The food and hot drinks were *next level fantastic". Hubby's cheesecake was the best he's ever had and my ginger slice was to die for. The quality of NZ food and hospitality has blown us away and this cafe was up there with the best. Thank you!!!
Great ambience with Tania at the helm giving great service to locals and visitors. The best cheese scones made on the premises and excellent coffee. Don't pass this place by. Lovely setting and you are able to sip coffee and watch the gliders!!
What a fabulous place. Staff were absolutely lovely. Kai was scrumptious and the kāwhe perfect. Location just the best, a ka pai selection of indoor & outdoor dining. If your in Omarama or passing thru, definitely worth calling in, you won't be disappointed.
The Pink Glider was a delightful lunch stop on our way from Lake Tekapo to Queenstown. It sits adjacent to an airfield and the small planes taxi over a large grassy field for a bite to eat! They have uncovered tables outside, a large, cosy and bright covered porch, and inside dining as well. The owner makes the experience-she is an absolute gem. Oh yes, and the food was delicious as well! We lingered and the little one played and overall we had a lovely time. Thank you!
This place is just gorgeous. Loads of space to sit - outdoors at picnic tables, indoors, or in a sheltered but outdoor bit. The food is incredibly tasty I have had the Cuban sandwich twice; the side salad is also really good with loads of fantastic baked goods the New York baked cheesecake is so creamy. A lovely local/family vibe. The staff are lovely and friendly in a genuine way. If I didn’t live in Ireland I would be here regularly.
Always nice every time we go there. Friendly staff, relax n enjoy our meals.
A nice place to chill out at Omarama airfield on their nice veranda. Nice bubbly atmosphere with people coming from allover the world. The prices are expensive though for relatively ordinary food, eg. fish&chips for $39, coffee and tea around $8 and shakes for $9. Don't know about the prices for wine and beer though, but at least some good variety.
The biggest ribeye I ever had. It was tender and juicy. Worth every pennyFood: 5/5
