This my true opinion based on my recent stay at "Pinehill Caravan Park- Lilydale" which we were camping unfortunately during March long weekend 2023. We were staying as a group of 3 families camping at the booked site. This site has regulations to go silent or mute after 10pm which means if we are gathering for a night laugh or play within your friends gang then you would get warned or cautioned. There are people doing long stays and are much suitable for this location after retirement to have a quiet atmosphere which is not my basic need camping outside for a break. Staff are constantly at you if you are awake after 10pm which feels insecure and makes us home sick to get back and finish the trip. The general suggestion is this place is good for day's stay and night is patrolled by staff wardens to warn and threaten to evacuate even if we have crying kids or noisy pets.
Beautiful well maintained park. Great camp kitchens, big sites, very friendly staff. Quiet and relaxing atmosphere. We will definitely return.Rooms: 5/5
This caravan park is fine and I would normally rate something like this 4 stars but being charged $10 per child when there is only a tiny playground on one side of the caravan park is a rip off. Caravan parks charging$10 for a child need to be providing value for that charge it is insane and we won't revisit any that don't offer value for their charge The amenities where not great, clean and fine but below expectations for the cost. The location and staff are the only good things I can say about this park unfortunately
Your classic overpriced caravan park. Booked a camp spot for one night, unpowered. Got a very small, uneven grass patch that could only fit one car for 41 dollars 2 people, car with rooftop tent. Unfortunately we were not able to level the car, because to grass patch was so uneven, we had to move to a parking spot nearby. The camp kitchen is not equipped and the other guests were very loud and even started arguing with each other during the night. Wouldn’t recommend going here if you don’t have to. Edit: Yes, we had the decency to call the reception in the evening to let you know that we had to transfer to the car park as the campsite was unusable. Didn't really have any other choice and you didn't offer one either. What I meant by overpriced was you don't get what you pay for. I don't care what your neighbors do, it starts with your own business.
The worst experience of staying in a caravan park ever!!! Terrible location for the room near the entrance. I'm okay with old but dirty doesn't cut it. Room wasn't serviced everyday so no refreshed coffee etc or fresh towels. Noisy air conditioner. Dirty cutlery. Dirty Venetian blinds. Terrible shower head. Front light not working. I'd rather sleep in my car than stay in this room.
Wanted $47pn for a powered site and stated we had to put our credit card details in an email to them?? Then retracted the site when we asked for a secure method of paying! We booked elsewhere. Obviously. After scratching our heads wondering whether it was a scam.
Very pleasant staff with great local information for visitors, this park unfortunately caters more for cabins and caravans. Tent sites is a whole other conversation. Starting with the positive: reasonably priced, great grass area, large fire pit, ok camp kitchens, unisex amenities, fabulous security. Down side: camp sites for tents are near Warburton hwy, if you want quiet, this is not for you. Sloping sites so you can roll down while sleeping, dibits to break an ankle in. Not really big sites, so hard to fit my car in my space. No taps along the unpowered sites, if I needed a bucket of water, you would have to try and carry it for nearly half a kilometre, a new camp kitchen is coming and will make a difference. I guess I would have loved a heads up about the slopping sites, so I could of made an informed decision and saved my experience for another time when it wasn't a long weekend, so I could really pick and choose where I wanted to be. Sites 182 and 183 avoid.
Clean, comfortable and well equipped cabin. Plenty of room for 4 people with a generous bathroom for its size. Very happy with our short stayRooms: 5/5
Location and park was great. Cabin was lovely and clean. The only thing that tainted our stay was the rude staff member that contacted me by phone 2 days before our stay. To be told 1 thing when booking and then to be told another 2 days before our stay wasn't a problem. It was the tone of voice and the way it was delivered.Rooms: 5/5
What a great park this was!! Awesome comfortable cabin with great utilities at our disposal nestled in a scenic hilly area on Melbourne's outskirts. Very friendly ladies welcoming you at the office and friendly residences and campers greeting you as you pass them by. Great friendly Aussie experience.... I couldn't count how many times I heard G'day mate ... how ya go'n? Recommend a visit to anyone curious
