Old fashioned style supermarket in Fitzroy. Many in house baked goods, cakes & desserts which are delicious and of good quality. Lots of deli and meat options, good range of vegetables and fruits and everything else. Also have a lot of unique products here which is cool. The cannoli here are amazing!
Randomly walked by Piedimonte’s in Fitzroy North and decided to check it out as I love vintage malls/shops and WOW!! I was grinning ear to ear just walking around Piedimonte.nnFelt like I stepped into a 1950s-1980s movie NO self checkout and staff wore a collared pressed shirt uniform here.nn Narrow check out aisles. Can imagine a long wait time during peak hours.n limited range of international food - Asian, Mexican.n An IGA but very small option of Black & Gold home brand products.nn Unsure if there is a complimentary designated parking lot.nn Some staff are friendly and some are very unhelpful. A mixed bag here.n Fresh bakery and sandwich bar.n Huge selection of cards upstairs.n Elevator availablen Cafe upstairs. Didn't have coffee so can't comment on the drinks quality.n Tried their tiramisu for $8. It's okay. Needs Kahlua.n Fresh flower bouquets available. The Asian uncle assembling the bouquets was quite skilled. The $45 bouquets were pretty
I came into the store today and to purchase the market day specials. I bought some of the budget scotch fillet and decided against the rump steak due to the fat content. Only to be throughly disappointed to watch an employee walking out with the beautifully cut meat. Same meat cut, I had just purchased but mine was a lesser quality. So what was left for customers appears to be the “end off cut” sold at the budget price. Hers was about the size of mine, all four together, fat removed and just wrapped in the clear cling wrap. The ones that I purchased from your store, had no fat cut off, was wrapped in the plastic. Additional to the original cut packet and the black thing at the bottom soaked in blood which I might add, contributed to the weight! This was definitely a bad experience, unlikely to return to the store again . This is so unfair for your market day specials. Disappointed IGA customer. Btw we are a family of 8, so we look forward too market day specials.nnUpdate: to date they have not bothered to reach out in regards to their concern. Even after contact from head office. Completely ignored! Ruining IGAs reputation in regards to non existent sales.
I went to Piedimontes for the first time on 23/8/23 and wow! Just wow, it was like how supermarkets used to be. A great selection of everything on the shelf and not overfilled or stock missing. I went there for the deli and some bread and left with an amazing apricot pie, the best croissant I’ve ever had, some melt in your mouth hot sopressa salami, fresh greens and some olive mortadellanI have worked in a deli myself at a large supermarket chain for 5 years, but I prefer delis with great selection and Piedimontes did not disappoint. The service was fantastic, the staff knew what they were talking about which you don’t get much these daysnA shorter black hair Italian lady served me and she was amazingly friendly and had the most bubbly personality!nI shall absolutely be back again!
Age old proven local Italian supermarket. It has an exceptional cheese collection and some seriously rare and unheard of variety. It specialises in Mediterranean items but I have found all sorts of interesting stuff. The local Fitzroy North crowd loves this shop.nThere is a bottle shop on the left and a stationery shop upstairs.nnThe bread could be a lot better, especially the house bread nWould love too see a wine collection at the lower end like that at the Mediterranean.
