Overall, food is great. Serving is generous. Price is reasonable. Sweet and sour is good, different from the ketchup base sauce of chinese restaurant, different but good. Pho brought though, it was good but it gave more of a Chinese soup than a Vietnamese vibe. Beef stir fry is on point. Heaps of item on the menu but as we were ordering desert drink for takeaway we were told they don't serve desert anymore, maybe mark those items not available anymore will be good idea.
We came by here since the other restaurant we were planning on was full. The place was fairly empty when we arrived but filled up during lunch. their menu has the standard separation or egg noodles, rice noodles and rice dishes. They also had some interesting speciality items like Vietnamese pancakes and crispy noodles. I tried the chilli noodles with shredded pork. It was interesting. The pork was more like a mince mixture but not very spicy. The shreddedness of it was almost like pork floss which turned into a paste when I added the sauce over the noodles. It was quite interesting and it was nice. Most tables there did get the hotpot so that might be one of their specialities. It was a nice place for lunch and it was fairly inexpensive with most items under $20.
I had a very disappointing experience today. Last time I visited this place was probably about 2 years ago. Pho noodles were delicious and broth very rich back then. Today we ordered chicken wonton noodles soup and combination noodle soup. Wontons were really disappointing. Very little filling and thick wonton shell. No taste. Meat combination had very little meat. Our noodles came out way overcooked. Broth so blend and not even hot as it should be. We didn’t get greeted to be seated. We found ourselves a table and went to the counter to grab menu. They gave us plastic spoons to eat. Overall very disappointing. I can tell the whole management or cooking staff have changed.
Pure Korean pho. The fried spring rolls are not crispy enoughjust leave my teeth mark on it and squeeze the oil out. The meat used in beef pho is Korean stir-fry beef or hotpot beef slice, and the soup has a flavor of instant noodle seasoning. It's very affordable, but will not come again.
Great little Vietnamese restaurant tucked just off Lincoln road. Lovely staff who was happy to recommend me a vegan dish. Food came quickly. Appears to be fairly popular with the locals. Food was great, balanced seasoning, healthy and authentic. Located in the plaza with plenty of parking.
BEST meals EVER!! And every single time!! If you’re out in west Auckland and need a great meal, this is the place!!! Prices are really good too and the service is so lovely. It’s our favourite!!!! Love this place so much!
The food is delicious but the restaurant would need a bit renovation, doesn't feel that clean and deco is a bit outdated
I visit about once a week and I am always satisfied. It is rumored to be a famous restaurant, but every time I go, I eat various menus. Noodles have delicious soup and delicious dishes. I recommend this restaurant to my family or group.
Had a bad experience when my boyfriend and I went to Pho Bien for lunch. We were served by a young guy, who seemed to have a problem with us when we sat down. Continuously being rude and interrupting us when we were trying to tell him our order. Then continued to stare at us from the till the whole time we were there. We’re disappointed with how we were treated in comparison to other customers as we obviously weren’t Asian. To see other customers Asian receive a much better service from the wait staff and for him to give us attitude when we were polite to him was disgusting. We also had undercooked chicken that was really rubbery and hard to chew as well as the chicken being pink inside. Other than that the food was really nice, but the service has made the choice of coming back an easy pass. Highly recommend if you’re Asian. It’ll be a 10/10 service for you, no offence.
Tucked away in a row of asian restaurants diverging out of Lincoln Road, Pho Bien is small eatery that is surely worth a visit. The food here is delicious and served rather quickly. Only critique would be that the interior needs quite an update, especially the floor tiles.Food: 5/5
