Had small beef combination pho. Very generous serving, I still couldn’t finish. No beef ball was disappointing but lots of fatty rare beef. Black pepper beef was a new addition I didn’t expect. Tendon was gelatinous but not much flavour. Broth was light not deeply complex. Staff asked if I wanted my bean sprouts cooked or raw. I’ve never been asked that before, typically its always raw on side! Busy place, quick turn over. Will return to try the chicken pho
Not as good as the original Pho An in Bankstown that one seems to be the most popular pho restaurant Ann's Vietnamese Restaurant isn't far from being one of the best in Cabramatta and is always busy. Beef noodle soups are a big hit here. The chicken based broths aren't as good but this is by no means a critique on the quality of their noodles soups. It's just that beef based broth usually has more flavour than chicken based broths. Regards @fooderarri
broth is really good and their serving is massive! definitely good value for money. we ordered the large one and it was so big my tummy was about to explode
Ordered a Special Beef combination, took 25 mins to come out which is too long for a simple dish like Pho which is mostly pre made. Taste is average,I didn't get the flavour of Pho.Restautant was full and very noisy. We sat next the place where they wash the dishes. We observed that they only quickly rinsed the top edge of the bowls before reusing them,It didn't appear hygiene to me.
Excellent beef soup. Flavour was on point. The only shortfall was the tendons weren't cooked down soft enough. But otherwise one of the best pho bowls in Cabra.
A casual restaurant serving above average pho with prompt service. Pho is quite ubiquitous in Sydney and Melbourne now. What differentiate one from another, for me, is the broth. If you like your pho broth to be other than just sweet, then you might like to try Ann's Vietnamese restaurant in Cabramatta, still my favourite place for anything Vietnamese. The broth is aromatic and beefy and comes with a generous serving of bean sprout and Vietnamese mint.
Really flavoursome beef pho although the beef was quite thick in places and came in lumps rather than being thinly sliced. There was a generous serving of bean sprouts which were cooked which was a nice surprise. The staff were helpful though their English skills were limited.Food: 4/5
To me, Pho Ann Cabramatta is even better than An Bankstown. The broth is special and consistently good. Service is fast to accommodate for busy lunch time. I dont know why people still go to An in Bankstown which only accepts cash and becomes so expensive in recent years. We should support businesses that provide good services but also pay some taxes to government.
Asking a Vietnamese person where their favourite Pho place is always open an open ended debate. People have such varying tastes and preferences which allows so many Pho restaurants to remain open each with their own loyal clientele. Ann is my favourite in Cabramatta and it is similar to Pho An in Bankstown. Is there a relation? I have no idea what to believe!! At $17.50 for a large special beef pho - it's exceptional value as it's a huge bowl loaded with all the various cuts of beef.
Went to Cabramatta with a mate to get some groceries and thought of getting a quick bite of pho since we were in Vietnamese area. My mate said let’s try some place new since we always had the same pho at the same old place. We came across this Ann’s Vietnamese pho and matey decided to try it out. While we were waiting to get a table, I notice there are 4 large rubbish bins place right on the shop front door. 1 bin is enough but 4 and in front of the entrance ?? How hygiene of it I was thinking..... So after we get a table we decide to try out their special beef pho and ordered a Large size to share, since we were not really hungry but craving for some only. While we waiting for the pho, we also noticed that basically the whole place is zero social distancing, and while it’s still the danger time for the spread of WuHan Virus and what’s more few areas in Sydney already infected again after the 2nd wave from Victoria. Moreover, all the tables were occupied with customers there are no distance space at all... Except for the lady who was washing cutleries at the corner, the 3 waiters on floor were not wearing any face masks. 3 of them kept of chatting with each other even from afar, imagine how the salivas flying everywhere. And worst still 2 of them kept eating and chewing gum while working and serving. Before we left, saw the short waiter wearing glasses while cleaning a table on front of us, he just pour the tea from the jar to the table and wipe it.... what the heck ? They don’t even have a proper surface wipe to sanitize ffs ! This is what the management is teaching the staff in hygiene matter ??!! After a while our pho was not served yet but I saw a table of 5 right in front of us who were came in late after us, got all their orders. Obviously the curly hair waiter who took our order forget to place it.... how hard and how long will it take to make 1 bowl of pho than 5 ?? So after waiting for another while we got our long waiting pho and my mate asked for one more bowl since it is to share but to our surprise the waiter said they can only give one bowl ! What the ....??? Like I said the WuHan Virus is still ongoing so they expected us to share and eat each other salivas and put our health in danger??? What if my mate or I am having flu ?? So they encourage us to spread the virus among us? Moreover, the one extra bowl they gave is not a large one but merely enough for 3 mouthful of bites. This is the very first time I came across a restaurant who only provide 1 sharing bowl, and especially on this time of health crisis. Worst pho place ever eat to be frank !! Not recommended unless you wanna catch come virus in there.
