A welcome relief for walkers, bikers & visitors alike on the Main Yarra Trail. A no-frills Cafe located in a rustic farm setting with antique apple orchards & farm that thankfully has remained unchanged while suburbia has sprawled all around. Watch out for the resident Marauding Magpie! Order & pay inside - name called & food tray plonked on to the table in front. If you don't get to it fast enough - the magpie will! Quiche slice - pumpkin, goat cheese & rocket was really fresh & tasty. Caps coffee good & frothy. Thankfully the lean-to seating area looked cleaner than my last visit 4 years ago. This visit was recent Sat. Retails organic produce. Apple tasting season is Feb to May - definitely will visit
Beautiful place hidden in plain sight, packed with history. Very important work is being done here to preserve fruit biodiversity. Cafe has lovely food and coffee, the organic store has lovely fresh produce and the staff are super friendly.
Food and drinks are nice, it’s lovely being outside under the gazebo, however it’s not wheelchair/walker friendly. The toilet door was stuck and my wheelchair would not fit through 58cm wide wheelchair, the floor was wet and dirty, and the paths between cafe, playground, gazebo, and toilets are all loose gravel on dirt. Also, the play area opens to the car park behind the gazebo, which is a hazard for young children. Properly fencing the play area, adding paved paths, and fixing the toilet issue would go a long way to making this 5 star review worthy.
Thought it would be a cute date to take my wife on a walk through an apple orchid. It was disappointing that there isn't actually an orchid to walk through, but you can view it from a distance, that was the main attraction unfortunately The cafe was okay at best. Food was moderately okay, but very expensive for what it was. They ask you to dispose of your own plates and stuff, even though you've paid a very steep price for the food. If you're going to charge that much for food, at least offer a good service. Not to mention the Toilets! Very muddy, dirty, I can't imagine what it would be like for some people needing to pull their pants down to sit, because they would get mud all over them. It's not hard to hose down the floors in there prior to opening the cafe and selling slices of cake at ridiculous prices. Oh, and the pot holes. The trail to get to the cafe is just full of pot holes. I'm sure some of that 400% markup can go towards filling a few holes on the path? Don't get me wrong, cafe was good. And the prices can be justified if you increase the quality of service and maintenance of facilities. Won't be back.
Very lovely place to enjoy catching up with friends, beautiful yummy food & cafe, very friendly staff, tranquil nature environment , could see kangaroos jumping in the field .
Staff are lovely and food and coffee are quick to arrive. Everything in the display case is delicious as we have sampled most of the goods on offer. Coffee is really good too. Organic produce for sale and a range of other grocery items available as well.
Always great service and coffee. Staff are very personable and remember names and what coffee you want. That's a nice touch
Great coffee, smoothies, delicious cakes and the the best vanilla slice in Melbourne! Also sells organic veg produce plus wood fired bread from St. Andrews. Highly recommend
Yesterday I walked from Lower Eltham Park to Petty's Orchard with 6 family members. We all purchased different types of smoothies and they were all fantastic. The staff were very friendly as well. Thank you for a great time. We are very lucky to have such an awesome place in the local area!
An excellent location for coffee and apple pie. This has been a popular coffee stop for years. It continues to deserve 5 stars. As covid restrictions ease it is almost back to the best of times. Takeaway cups are still being used. Hopefully they will be gone soon. Another visit. Still excellent. Mid September 22 still using takeaway cups. Feb 23 Tried a sausage roll today. Probably the best sausage roll I have ever eaten.
