Pets Haven Foundation
"I, along with staff and volunteers, have a strong passion for animals and a major dislike of how pet shops are generally managed and viewed, so we decided we wanted to make a difference.Generally speaking, being in the animal industry really opened our eyes. There are so many abandoned animals, tragic stories, puppy farms and unwanted litters of both dogs and cats.At significant personal cost, I am proud to say we have homed thousands of both cats and dogs to loving homes, all temperament tested, vet checked, desexed, microchipped and vaccinated. We have rehabilitated hundreds of cruelty cases, taken care of pregnant animals and raised unweaned puppies and kittens, placing all into loving and forever homes."

The staff were excellent, all animals were in immaculate condition and happy. I came home with a gorgeous kitten.
Have to give these guys five stars, well I originally gave them 5 stars. Blonde short lady is very very rude and makes us feel like we are not welcome as she always is grumpy and complains alot. We always go in there on a Sunday afternoon to have a look at the great work that these guys do in adopting out unwanted or rescued animals , cats and dogs. The staff in there well most of them are very kind and well trained and have a lot of knowledge in regards to the animals they look after. The pens always very clean and the pets always seemed happy to be there, until they are adopted out to there forever home families
We adopted a puppy from these lovely people yesterday. Excellent service they went above and beyond to help me get my little pup. Welcoming and friendly and the adoption fee included an awesome adoption pack that met all the needs of the cutie we adopted bed, food, worm/flea treatment, toys loads, feeding bowls - we needed for nothing to set up home for our new little pup. We were very pleased with the service we received! highly recommend. happy family here. :
So happy to have welcomed our little Billie into our home! The staff were all amazing and clearly put so much care into finding the right homes for the pets, thank you all so much!
Today I adopted Alice, a near 1 year old cat. The service I got from pets haven staff was fantastic. I was welcomed right at the front door, the girls were so helpful. They entertained my 7 year old son and let him pat the kittens and cats he was interested in. They also didn't mind us saying hello to the dogs. The facility was clean, it did not smell. The staff worked as a team helping everyone that walked in and helped each other. My experience has been positive with this foundation.
very disappointed… my partner had been begging and begging for a cat/kitten, she had a hold and asked the lady how much who checked and said $295 as the kitten was 6 months old. we then went home to think about it and came back two hours later to purchase and got to the checkout and was then told that the price was now $395? my 19 year old girlfriend being to shy to question it just paid the amount and came home. the next day the kitten became very ill - blood in stool & vomiting. obviously we took her straight to the vet who advised that she was severely dehydrated and underweight and was put on an IV drip and was told she would have to stay overnight. after another $300 forked out and the much appreciated professional and kind service we received at McIntyre G J in Kyneton she is finally home and healthy. both my partner and I have heard numerous horror stories about this place, including horrors experienced firsthand - such as adopting two kittens within a two year span and both kittens had sadly passed just within a week of adopting. a company/“CHARITY” should fulfill the level of trust the community expected when purchasing an animal by ensuring that they have been taken care of, ensuring that they are healthy as well as making the customers aware of any illnesses or disabilities. the only reason i had returned was thinking that it may have been a one off tragedy. there needs to be more communication should be made both between staff and customers. I advise do not adopt from here.
Adopting Luna previously “flora” was the easiest most wonderful experience I’ve had in the longest time. After beginning to feel like applying for a rescue dog was contest I couldn’t win i became very disheartened with the process. The amount you invest in applications, then the uncertainty while you wait and wait, sometimes for weeks only to have your heart broken when you weren’t picked, what’s meant to is meant to be they say but it was impossible not to feel unworthy. So if you know your a good dog owner, you understand the breed you are taking on and your willing to put the work into a dog that’s been doing it rough do yourself a favour and call these guys! Call early, call back, communicate arrival time changes, check their website regularly Saturday they had 2 dogs, Sunday they had 14, shake off the bad reviews you read online you aren’t adopting the people, who I found to all be lovely and so helpful and give these dogs a loving home. Thank you pets haven team for the work you do, for finding Luna and keeping her safe for us till she could join our family. She’s so wonderful and already an integral part of our family! Love your work team, if and when she’s ready for a friend you’ll be only place I call!
Got the absolute dog of my dreams! We adopted my boy almost a year ago and I could not be happier! The staff were incredibly nice and answered any questions me and my family had.
On their Facebook page they put pictures of pups for sale that looked about 7-8 weeks old. I thought I'd confirm and asked: "How old are these pups?" They did not answer, deleted my comment, and blocked further comment. I later found out that the "pups" were born last year, and clearly were not pups. They have also have put their adoption fee up by $2,000.00
Whilst I believe everyone working or volunteering there love and care for the animals. I don't have an issue with that. I can't help but be disappointed. I recently adopted a cat. The website has one price, but it is not correct. You have to purchase a bed and flea pack for almost the same cost as the cat. If you don't, you can't adopt the animal. After having the kids pick out the cat only to find you are up for double the money at the end is really disappointing. This should be on your website, not once you have driven some distance to support the business. Also the phone, you cannot get through. I called all day and didn't get answered till late afternoon. I also have a sick cat and have been calling, since Monday. If you are charging a $150 for a bed and flea pack, you should able to manage a phone system.
