This place has a massive range with almost every kind of model or kit out there in stock. Not the cheapest but the sheer amount of options they have makes up for it. My favourite store for buying any kind of car model and all the paints and equipment that you need are right there.
I really wanted to like this store as I grew up in the 90's shopping at the original location in the city so it was nice seeing the familiar plane at the front of the store. Around 12 months ago I decided to get back into my old hobbies after a very long time but unfortunately though the service from each of my 4 visits has been terrible so I refuse to spend any more money there now. As I was just dipping my toes in the water again I didn't want to dive right back into the hobby so I started by buying a modest kit and some basic paints/brushes/glues etc and the gentleman serving me kept scoffing like I wasn't going to do the kit justice by not buying a crazy amount of supplies. I brushed this off and tried not to think too much of it. My last visit was to buy a nephew his second model kit ever for a birthday present and I explained this to the staff member. I purchased a car model, acrylic paints, a brush and glue. Just a simple setup to let him get the job done although this was still more than what I was supposed to spend. The gentleman serving me was scoffing again and chuckling when I declined politely mind you the offer to buy paint thinners and other extras. This is a little kid who will happily paint straight from the jar just as I did as a kid, why complicate it for them with things like thinners? The goal is for him to just enjoy a build, not win an award. The staff didn't seem to understand this and made me feel like I shouldn't be spending money in their store. So now, I guess I won't.
Bought my first model build USS John F Kennedy CV-67, 1/350 scale. I'd like to say a big Thank You to Daniel and Jim for being very helpful, they really know their products, highly recommend anyone who's starting out, guys there are very helpful. Thanks again guys Cheers Michael
Great store, love the selection of slot cars that they stock
Lots of stock. Great store. Nice gent who helped.
I ordered 2 clear coat gloss spray cans and u only sent me one gloss and another semi gloss. If I hadn't had called u wouldn't have responded to my email, and you told me you were helping me out by sending the semi gloss? I think it was easier for u guys to just send something sort of similar instead of actually emailing or calling me to let me know one can wasn't in stock and giving a refund. Seems dodgy to me.Plenty of hobby shops in town avoid this one.
Great store with great stock and friendly service. Definitely going back.
Very bad service. Avoid this place everyone. I chased for an item, he looks confused so I was trying to find a photo for him but during that time he said “why you’re not talking, are you dying?” How can a seller say that to a customer? Not helping at all.
THE worst customer "service" I have ever received. This might be a bit long. Order placed on the first of may... late in the evening. On the Tuesday I get a message saying the locomotive I'd ordered wasn't actually in stock, with a suggestion for a different locomotive one that was described as non DCC compatible so I emailed and said I would prefer something different. No response until a couple of days later when I got a voice message saying to call back That's annoying, I don't want to talk on the phone The guy I talked to said the same thing as the email, told me someone bought the loco in store at the same time I placed my order at something like 11pm on a Sunday night? wasn't helpful and generally seemed confused and told me it would be dealt with the next day. It wasn't. After a week or so there was another message saying I would get a refund for the locomotive, completely ignoring the email I sent saying I would prefer a different one. so, I asked for the order to be completely cancelled and refunded. Multiple times. Every email completely ignored. So, I ended up paying way to much considering the shipping for two N scale wagons. And eventually I did get the refund for the locomotive. How long did this take? Well... I placed the order on the first, let's be generous and say the 2nd considering it was the middle of the night. The refund showed up on the 24th. The wagons arrived on the 23rd. In the same period of time I placed two orders at other hobby shops, and they arrived in days.... One even came with candy. I would certainly suggest avoiding Perth Hobby Centre. I would have left 0 stars, but you have to at least give one to post.
Want Gundam? Go here! Massive selection and good prices. Bonus if the guy's behind the counter smile!
