Delicious dumplings. I had the beef and celery pan fried dumplings and the pork and chives boiled dumplings. Both were delicious. The cucumber salad, hot soy drink and the deep-fried dough was nice but could be crispier. It was lovely to see the Aunties making the dumplings. Will come back again.Food: 5/5
Just a really nice dumpling and noodle Shop. As soon as you walk in basically everything is in Chinese which is how you know it is authentic. The servers were nice to explain the dishes and we ordered the pork and chive dumplings, Dandan noodles and pork soup noodles. All were very delicious and flavourful. Infact, the owner makes the dumplings in front of you. There is also a unique atmosphere with communist china decorations and serving bowls. We are definitely returning here again :
3.5 stars. Good for quick and reasonable food. Environment: very very packed - walk carefully. Decorations and the containers are China's Cultural Revolution themed. Order & pay at the front desk. Grab all the utensils, seasonings and water at self service and find a table. Tables are small. There is a patronized corner for an old lady who is making dumplings. --- 6.2/10 Service: Self -service basis. Served food fast. 6.6/10 Food: canteen-style. Presentation is not essential. Good portion. Reasonable price. - Chinese Beef & Onion Pan Fried Pie, $6@: succulent filling. The pie pastry wasn't thick. Filled with beef and red onions --- 7.6/10 - Braised Beef with Homemade Noodle Soup, $16.8: there are 6 pcs of braised beef in normal size, not chewy. Noodles are good in texture and portion. more vegetables and spring onions than other Chinese noodles shops. --- 7.5/10 - Pan Fried Pork & Cabbage Dumplings, $8.8/6pcs: served very hot. Not veru big in size. Crispy outside. Juicy filling. --- 7.7/10 - Fresh Soya Bean Milk, $4.5: ordered hot. Not overly sweet. Good portion.
Sweet and spicy Cucumber, pan fried quick deep fry pork & chive Dumplings and wontons in Szechuan. The wonton wrappers are amazingly silky and just a bit chewy - fantastic. The only thing I'd change would be a bit more heat to the chilli oil, however I appreciate the delicious flavour rather being blasted with heat like some chilli oils. Lovely little spot.
Yep, first time tonight and it’s already my favorite restaurant . The food is just great ! I’m looking forward to come again.
Authentic and tasty Chinese food if you are looking for beef noodles soup, handmade dumplings, chive pockets or even Chinese burgers. There are other things like Dan Dan noodles. Noodles have a good texture. Go there if you want some good food.
Not impressed. Frozen dumpling from Woolworths are much better than the pan fried dumplings they serve. Service was almost as bad as the food, no service when you walk in, the girl serving our food was sitting down eating in the restaurant with the rest of the restaurant staff, felt like we were interrupting them by being customers waiting for our food.
My wife and I went to this place for lunch. I got the Beef and Celery Dumplings boiled and she got the Pork and Mushroom Mixed Noodles dry Mine tasted good. I got a taste of hers. That was good too. The prices are good. Each of the dishes about 12
Food was ok, nothing to rave about. Interesting deco from the communist era. Portions were quite big on par with the price charged. Had better noodles & dumpling dishes elsewhere. Might come back & try some other dishes in future to see if it’s tastier. Took a star off as the “You Tiao” wasn’t fresh.
Average good Chinese food, for average okay prices. Braised beef noodle soup was decent but not amazing, it came with a normal amount of tender braised beef and veges for 1x person, and enough noodles for 2x people. Boiled tea egg was quite nice, reasonably priced at $1/egg. Pan fried dumplings were more deep fried than pan fried, the vegetarian filling was quite nice. The mugs of fresh soy milk looked quite good, might be back to try that with the deep fried dough sticks. 1% surcharge with Paywave.
