As a camera enthusiast, I asked her where she got her cameras from and she went crazy, said my parents didn’t raise me the right way and told me that I should know better than to ask. Honestly was just a friendly question as I thought she was lovely before that. Told me she didn’t want to sell to me even though I told her I wanted to buy a camera, told me not to ever come back just for asking 1 question. Very strange experience, almost surreal.
They are never open, wanted to buy a supper 8 camera but every time, I go they aren't open been going there for a month between 1-2pm mon- Fri as it say on the window. Can someone please suggest a good camera shop that sell supper 8/ old camera as I want to add to my camera collection.
Very sweet Asian couple who came to Aus from Hong Kong! Just be respectful, don't touch the cameras and you'll be fine. Lady might be a tad impatient, but her husband is lovely and would speak to you about the cameras at length and show you how they work. Make sure you carry cash though because it's cash only.
Very unpolite asian couple. Especially the lady. Be careful and check every single detail before you buy something there. They were selling some cameras as in mint condition with fungus and moisture inside pretending everything is fine. What i didnt like also was the way guy handled cameras when showing. It was like he is showing me hammer to buy he almost destroyed one. At the moment when i was inside a furious guy came in requesting money back for the non working camera he bought there. It was very intense argue and they refused to give him the money back. So better buy from KEH and pay the hell of a post at least be sure you will get the thing as you would like to. Regards.
Less of a shop, more like a longitudinal research project into dust deposition on historical artefacts. The items on display are the same as they were in 1985. Be sure to take a photo once a year to create an exciting time lapse sequence of the window display as the ages go by.
What is this place now?? It hasn't shown any sign of life for decades. Peony Garden is remembered from long, long ago as the favoured lunch stop for staff at what was Bicycle Institute of Victoria, 3 doors down in the Environment Centre. I worked there from 1981 to 1984, and Peony Garden was the place to be for sweet and sour and spring rolls. I would get lost in the street now. The entire Little Lonsdale St landscape today bears no resemblance at all to the congested, noisy scene when Melbourne Central was being dug into a huge hole in the ground with the Coops Shot Tower dominating the streetscape directly across the road. Times they have changed...
Open for only 1 hour, they sell old cameras and other little trinkets. The owners used to run a takeaway food shop, hence the big sign in front.

Owner is extremely rude. Id give 0 stars if possible. The husband is lovely. The wife is devil incarnate.
