The best bacon and egg roll in Shoal Bay! Coffee is also good. If you are looking for a simple but enjoyable brekkie then The Cafe is worth a visit. Customer service is great and the view is great. You can hear the waves lapping up the shores.
Thought I'd try this cafe for breakfast after seeing the high star rating and it having a nice outlook onto the beach. Unfortunately that was as far as the positives went with my experience. From the moment of walking inside, it didn't go very well. I was not acknowledged by the staff, left waiting for some time. The staff all looked unhappy. Being in the hospitality game myself, first cardinal rule should be to smile and greet your clients. I asked how long the wait for food was and was told over an hour - which I value their honesty - so I decided to return later on for brunch. Upon my return, same type of "greeting" but a short wait for food. The man who eventually served me was nice. I ordered the Vego Full Breakfast. Where do I start .... everything was so over cooked - poached eggs hard inside, 3 leaves of spinach that were so fried that they were brittle. The tomato was burnt black underneath. Hash brown was so over fried it was dry, brittle and very oily. Mushrooms just too oily, with everything way over salted. Except the beans, they actually needed salt. The most unfortunate part was i couldn't eat the smashed avocardo as it was off. Unfortunately for me the experience did not go very well. Maybe they just had an off day?
I popped in from the neighbouring hotel for a relaxing iced coffee recently. It was a lovely, sunny day but very windy which meant that sitting outside with my drink was a bit of an adventure. Quite a few things in the sort of courtyard there were flying about. Quite fun really and made for a discussion point with fellow customers. Anyway, I ordered my drink inside and found a table outside that seemed to be protected from most flying things - i.e. anything that wasn't weighed down by sandbags. It came soon enough and then I took forever as I slowly supped it and took in the windy atmosphere.
Great location nice food the banana bread French toast was amazing & a great gluten free option the only bad point would be the table staff
Very delayed review but better late than never! Ordered 2 cakes here for my mothers surprise 60th back in February and they couldn’t have been more helpful, accommodating and very enthusiastic! I ordered a carrot cake and a lime and coconut both iced. Very reasonably priced and so so tasty! Very greatful for a pleasant stress free experience - so thank you Team at The Cafe Shoal Bay! Unfortunately I only have a picture of the carrot cake
Best coffee in the bay, they roast the beans in house! Cakes are freshly made too, the maango cake is to die for! The beach burger is incredible and kids had awesome meals too! Highly recommend this place! Fast and friendly service !Food: 5/5
This is nice little family run cafe. The service is super friendly and attentive. There is a good amount of spacious alfresco seating with shade. Although, you'd still want to get in early if you want breakfast on a weekend as they can get busy. The menu is your standard cafe menu, but they do bake a lot of their cakes on site. The Brownie is definitely something worth trying. Coffee is done quite well, relatively strong with good flavour. For breakfast, I had the Eggs Benedict with Salmon, in my opinion, I actually prefer the Salmon not to be cooked, but it's no complaint, just a preference. The menu is well priced and won't break the bank. Did I mention the owners are friendly? They are more than happy to have a bit of chat, provided they have the time. Staff are young, but seem to be experienced. I had an enjoyable experience here.
Loved it so we came both mornings of our stay. Food and drinks great. Caleb is a really cool super friendly staff member Food: 5/5
Great coffee, toasted ham and tomato sandwich was average and it took over 20min before I received it. Service needs to improve.
Coffee was ok, fresh but weak for my liking. Staff is very friendly. The big breakfast turned out really pretty but everything was a bit too salty for me especially the mushrooms.
