I checked into Peninsula Private Hospital for an arthroscopy and meniscus repair, and I genuinely did not expect to be this impressed.nnLet’s start with the nurses. 9/10 times they were absolutely exceptional and that’s not hospital-exceptional, that’s actually exceptional. Calm, switched on, and clearly good at what they do. If you’ve spent time in other hospitals I have, you’ll know that consistency like that is rare.nnThe food for my two-day stay? Somehow 10/10. I don’t know what wizardry is happening in that kitchen, but it was years ahead of some B&Bs I’ve stayed in. I was mentally prepared for “edible.” Instead, I got “pleasantly surprised.”nnMy surgeon and anaesthetic team were, without exaggeration, the best I’ve dealt with. You can tell when someone is highly trained and takes pride in their craft it shows in the way they communicate, the way they prepare you, and the confidence they instil without arrogance. That level of care was obvious from start to finish.nnI’ve had recent experiences in the public system at Dandenong and Casey, and this stay was light years ahead. In fact, it was so good it’s made me seriously consider reinstating private health cover just to have this standard of care available again.nnNot many hospital stays leave you thinking, “That was handled brilliantly.” This one did.
I Had my knee replacement done in the peninsula Private Hospital on 17 November . During my 4 days stay the medical services I received were exceptional. Always staff on hand to help me .nTheir kindness made a huge difference.nI felt very cared for night & day.nMy private room was kept clean & the bed very comfortable.
A&E department had me scanned and in a bed inside of 60 minutes when I presented with a serious ankle fracture. As a 70 year old man I was in extreme pain. Nurses and Doctor who attended were kind, compassionate and friendly. Terrific hospital with great people. Lucky to have this A&E available. Yes it costs, but for timely treatment it's unbelievable south of the Yarra.
I would not recommend this hospital in particular the emergency department. After being diagnosed with appendicitis from a CT scan on Friday my GP told me to go to the emergency department. If I had of known the appendectomy was going to take 24 hours after arriving I would have gone to Frankston Public Hospital. The nurses in the ward were far better than the ones in ED and also the surgeon Dr Skinner was excellent. I wish I had of read the reviews before choosing to go there.
This is an outstanding hospital with excellent patient communication, companionate care, best nurses, doctors and staff, bar none. When you need critical care there is no better place. Everything is excellent from the time you enter until you leave, no stone is left unturned to make sure you feel comfortable.nWhat a wonderful bunch of people caring for everyone in when they need someone to help them recover. A big shout out to everyone - keep doing what you are doing- you’re amazing.
