Good presentation, made the course content as interesting as it could be
I cannot praise PEER enough for providing an amazing learning opportunity. From day one, the staff has been incredibly supportive and welcoming. The trainers are knowledgeable and patient, always willing to help and answer any questions. Learning here has been an absolute pleasure, and I feel fortunate to be part of such a fantastic organisation.
Good service in terms of looking after their apprentices but very poor in house education that is borderline negligence especially due to the high risk nature of the electrical trade
Excellent training, great atmosphere, all staff and trainers are very kind and understand the trade industry. Highly recommended for anyone trying to get into the industry.
If you want to be abused and talked to like trash then this is the perfect place. All the teachers do is swear at you and get mad when you don’t understand something. They need to be reported. This behaviour is not ok, and for people that have mental health problems being sworn at and being made to feel stupid makes us feel even worse. This honestly deserves 0 stars. Peer does not care about any of their apprentices. Seriously they need to be reported.
Outstanding company to work with. We have nothing but praise for Brooke, Gavin and the team at Peer. They work hard with the employers to find reliable apprentices. As a trade business, we love to give people an opportunity to commence their career and learn a trade. Peer have been incredible at finding quality candidates, they support the apprentices with regular site visits and us as employers through out the journey. The payroll team are always bright, cheerful and easy to deal with and they have good systems, which makes payroll straight forward and easy to navigate. I popped in to say hello as I was passing one day and was offered a tour of their facilities, they are amazing. Thank you to Peer and the staff for everything you do.
Currently a 3rd year apprentice through peer and have hated every part of it, did the 2 months unpaid pre apprenticeship course and enjoyed it, sat down in a class and learnt a bit of the trade, once I signed up as a first year they throw u in a room full of other apprentices aprox 30-50 with all of us at different stages of our training and only 2 trainers between all of us. On the computers we get given a textbook equivalent to teach ourselves the trade school and it’s all individual learning no joint classes. As insinuated in the pre app course. If you ask the trainers questions they either don’t know as they are from a different trade once had a butcher try to help explain phasor diagrams or fly through you a million miles a hour and you don’t retain any of it, some of the assessments are absurd as we only get 2 attempts on a test have to get 100% and have 60 minutes per attempt if you fail both attempts you have no ability to retry and have to get scolded by the trainer and redirected back to the online textbook, possibly doesn’t have the answer. We get paid just above the minimum wage. And they pocket the rest. Best thing to do is once you turn 21 leave peer apply any other training group, you’ll get signed up as an adult apprentice and resume ur apprenticeship from the same spot in a class full of people who are at the same stage of their apprenticeship. Peer will not sign you off early doesn’t matter how quick you finish ur trade school. I’m considering leaving peer and dropping the trade with about 1 1/2 years left of my trade. Only thing peer are good for is looking after the safety of their apprentices and the food in the cafeteria.
Great learning institution. Staff & trainers are super friendly and well informed. I am attending my GAP training as electrician with them and the feeling is that PEER wants you to succeed. Thank you to the trainers and keep up the good work. We really appreciate your efforts and assistance.
peer is a great trade school my trainer is a good bloke who wants everyone in my class to succeed. highly recommend to all tradie
They boast and advertise everywhere that they're an equal opportunity employer however they do NOT take on adult apprentices. This has been confirmed by a recruitment employee working there saying people don't hire adult apprentices. Maybe you should remove your "equal opportunity employer" print from your business if it is infact a lie. Update: thanks for the response but no, a family member of mine worked with and was good friends with your recruitment people and he was told directly you do not take on adult apprentices any more at all , period! Nothing to do with "our employers needs at the time" which is fine, just don't falsely say you're equal opportunity.
