What an experience!! It’s such a cute vibe, we had Mother’s Day dinner here and we had the set banquet. Wow the food was amazing and just so full of flavour. The portion sizes are massive so you better go hungry, we ended up leaving with containers of left overs which we thoroughly enjoyed for lunch the next day. Staff were so friendly and lovely. Definitely a restaurant to visit.
We are so lucky to have this beautiful little restaurant in the neighborhood. Delicious food beautifully presented and at a very reasonable price. Can’t wait to come back
This is my third time visiting the restaurant. Food was delicious as always, except for the stale cold bread that was under par compared to their usual standards. However, that’s all the positivity I can give for this place. if you are looking for a relaxing, romantic dinner location, give this a miss. I placed a reservation more than a week in advance to celebrate my three year wedding anniversary. The booking system even asks if this is for a special occasion to which I answered yes. Well, Lo and behold when we arrived, hubby and I were made to share a table with 3 rowdy friends. When a single table became available, I asked politely if we could be moved there and their service staff came up with many excuses as to the unavailability of those 2 single tables. Eventually, they reluctantly moved us. I wish that was the end of this little “hiccup” But no. The waiter proceeded to rush us 4 times in a span of 5 minutes whether we wanted dessert, table away boxes, the bill. And even as we were packing our food, he came AGAIN and said, “sorry don’t mean to rush you but we need this table by 8”. We eventually left at 8:02pm with a very sour taste in our mouth and will definitely not be returning. Such a pity given we drove from North Sydney to Canterbury for this little joint, should have headed to Surry Hills instead. Oh and btw, when we left, there was no queue in sight for our very *highly demanded* table. In fact there were plenty of empty tables. So thanks for ruining our anniversary. Rushing us through the door like cattle. Ironically, they had a wedding happening out back. Let’s hope when the bride and groom returns to relive their anniversary, you will have improved your service skills.
Recently dined in and had the farewell tour menu which included a range of dips, freshly baked bread, tender lamb and chicken and some delish zuchinni balls. The service was great, super attentive but not in a hovering way. The drinks were delightful, highly recomend the spicy marg. Check them out before they close!
I’m sooooooooo happy the lovely people at Pazar Collective have finally reopened albeit with a slightly different concept! The clever name get it? Just like pizzaria only it’s not Italian! is the first clue that the menu is slightly different than the previous incarnation. There are still some stunners on the menu from the Pazar days - the roasted sweet potato, the wood fired breads and dips, the sangria and thank God!! the habanero caramel tres leches cake I cried the day they closed to think I’d not taste that ever again! The new menu features several amazing Turkish pide. We tried the four cheese with egg and the harissa prawn plus an amazing fall salad and the sangria. The egg on the four cheese is incorporated into the filling rather than the runny egg topped version I was expecting but the flavour was perfect with a hint of tangy feta and a well developed crust from a multi day ferment on the dough. The harissa prawn had a bit of fruity heat but not too spicy and some lovely crunchy fresh rocket with a fresh tasting tomato sauce base. The fall salad was a perfect medley of watermelon radish sliced thinly plus juicy tomatoes, crunchy cabbage, cucumber, dill, mint and some lightly toasted hazelnuts in a pomegranate dressing with jewelled wedges of perfectly spiced pickled plums - autumn on a plate and my dish of the night except that cake of course! It’s worth noting that the wines are great value with bottles in the $38-42 range plus some nice beer choices and the hibiscus sangria. There are cocktails on the list but they weren’t available the night we were there as they are training new bar staff. Many of the staff are new and finding their feet and Attilla says they are training as fast as they can find people. The friendliness and big efforts of the floor staff especially Karen! to make us feel welcome meant I certainly did not notice anything lacking on the staffing front. If you’re not from the Canterbury area it doesn’t matter..this one is worth the trip! Just leave the Italian accent at home! Vegetarian options: Lots of vegetarian options especially the amazing four cheese pide and the wood fired breads. The fall salad of pickled plum and cabbage with hazelnuts and pomegranate dressing was spot on! Parking: Parking is easy across the road in the side street
Firstly, the food was absolutely amazing - I am beyond impressed. However, it was probably the worst dining experience I have ever experienced. About 15 minutes after we were seated the lights directly above us started flickering on and off and made myself and my friend incredibly nauseous. I asked the waitress to just switch those lights off, she tried to dim them. However it just kept going. This continues for the next 2 hours. I felt like I was dining in a rave. Then there was the issue of the staff. Hovering over us, taking our plates away before we had finished our food. We had half a chicken on our plate and she just took it away without asking. Constantly hovering and standing around with other waitresses just having a good old chat right next to us so that we could hear them. It's clear that these are people who have no idea what they are doing - when we were seated they gave us ONE cup and looked at me like I had two heads for asking for another - were we expected to share the one? It was So dissapointing to have such a horrible overall experience given that the food was so delicious.
Exceptional food the labne is to die for and highly recommend the Pumpkin with Chimmichurri, Zuchini Balls and the Tres Leche Cake! However poor service is a let down and changes to their menu are needed specifically their meat dishes, the chicken and lamb have become stagnate items on the menu hence I eat vegetarian at Pazar. Quite underwhelming as the team at Pazar are capable of much more, that much is evident in the rest of their evolving menu.
This place is amazing, the menu is a mix of food so well paired, the spices, herbs and veggies and meat sing to one another and taste absolutely delicious and tingle your taste Buds. This was our fourth visit over 2yrs and we will go back again and again. Highly recommended ++++++++
Amazing food, really nice ambiance and great service. We came with a last minute decision on a Friday night and couldn't have left more satisfied. Everything was yummy, the lamb is a must with the turkish bread. It is nicely decorated and we got to sit in the garden which was still warm although it was a chilly day. Definitely will visit again!
The look of the restaurant from the outside does not tell the true story of this place. Inside, it is trendy and chic. It was very busy when we went. The menu was alternative and most of the dishes were vegetarian. The food was very good although if I had to say something negative, some dishes were a bit heavy on the spices and maybe a bit too overloaded with too many different flavours. However, the produce was good and the result was therefore good. I would totally recommend the octopus. Simply grilled, fresh produce, excellent! We will go back.
