Whilst I consider myself a "porridge connoisseur " how sad and have always argued the Criterion Street Cafe porridge is the best, today it met its match. The porridge at Patanella is outstanding. Just try it.

Finally had a day without commitments on which to pay a long over due return visit. Oh why had I left it so long. The gnocchi so soft and pillow like, in the most beautiful sauce. So balanced and so delicious.
Great staff. Food is nice but not consistent in plating or quantity. Not a fan of luke warm coffee in jam jars.
Great food, great service. My friends came here for 3 days in a row. I only got to go once before we left hobart but will be straight back when we return. Even going to pick up a coffee and some records on my way to the airport. A proper cozy cafe where yr cups are not matching and they know how to make tea. Coffee damn good too
