I purchased a ring late Feb '17 and in early May '17 a diamond fell out of the dimante band. I returned to Pascoes to request a replacement or for their jewellers to repair it as I believe the ring was not 'fit for purpose' and under the Consumer Guarantees Act I am covered for such circumstances. However, I rudely told that this was considered 'wear and tear' and that I had mistreated the ring by wearing it daily - though when I purchased there was no mention on when and how long I could wear the ring for. Furthermore, I was told that there is no time frame for 'wear and tear', and gave me an example that I could purchase a ring, walk out the store, catch it on a piece of clothing and this would also be considered 'wear and tear'. 'I would not recommend anybody to purchase any jewellery from Pascoes, as I was also told that I had purchased a 'cheap' ring (still spent over $100) and it was expected - I don't believe 2 months of wear is a good life for a ring whatsoever!
