We had our wedding reception here, we chose this place as we have always had such a great experience with the team and food when we have visited for meals. They absolutely went over and above and it was the most perfect reception we could have asked for. Absolutely loved the food! Service was amazing and fast! Definitely will be coming back when I come to Papamoa again.
Nothing was seasoned, it had some strawberry jam like sauce inside the burger but everything else was just too plain. Great view tho ·ᴗ·
Not gonna lie, the coffees took a while & there was only one other table at the time, but once the food came out our tables mood changed, everyone was really happy with their orders and Staff recommendations were on point Wheelchair accessibility: One of the few restaurants in Tauranga with easy wheelchair accessibility and plenty of room to move, recommended
A nice atmosphere with friendly staff. They went out of there way to find a table for us on busy Saturday night.
We went for the Rib special . We booked a table and are glad we did because this place is very popular. So I would say if you want by I go ,rather book a table even if you assume it won’t be busy . But I can see why they are popular. They have different specials on different days and we intend on trying them all in the coming few weeks . The ribs we had came with chips and salad . The ribs HuGE. There was so much on the plate . I had to take some ribs home . Everything we ate was bloody yummy. We got the last ribs . And that was at about 6 pm. Even though the special is all day ribs I would advise if you want to try them book a table and try and go no later than 5:30pmish cos their ribs are hella good and popular and the offer does say something about ribs are limited numbers. I had the cocktail of the week. I think it was called a Robot. Mother of dragons it was good . I hope I can ask for it next time I go and it isn’t just something that was for the week we went . Also the decor new and modern and the place is very clean. The views are stunning . Im not a smoker but they had a clean section for the smokers .and it wasn’t tucked away . They still had the view. When we got there the front desk told us the place was booked up.I could only see 2 waitresses . The person at the front desk had to help with waiting and clearing tables. But the three of them handled everything so professionally , kept on smiling and didn’t break a sweat. Very good service .very impressed with the staff on the day we went. Wish I had taken names and taken pictures of the food. Just before we left we say a couple of more waitresses start working . We are definitely going back. Kid-friendliness: They have a little menu for kids . There were people with kids. But they were little babies. So I can’t say if older kids unable to sit still and running around , would be a deal breaker but when we were there the kids weren’t too “loud” . Parking: Parking on site but also street parking Wheelchair accessibility: Is on ground floor so easy access for wheel chairs Dietary restrictions: Very accommodating . Just ask server
We went for dinner as a family of 4. We managed to get a table on the busy top deck outside. The food came out quickly and the service was excellent. Meals were standard pub fare but quite tasty and the kids loved their burgers. We enjoyed it and would come back again. Kid-friendliness: Had a good kids menu and a small kids play area Dietary restrictions: Some GF available but like most places, more expensive for these options!
Disappointed in Breakfast. Went on New Years Day. Coffees were great. Service was OK- nothing special, but took our orders and delivered the food. Breakfast was disappointing. We had the creamy mushrooms with a side of bacon and the big breakfast. The mushrooms were pretty meh- cut really thin and in a gravy that seemed like it was from a mix - not creamy. Kind of like mushroom sauce you'd put on a steak. The bacon wasn't anything special- just cheap bacon like you can get from the supermarket. The big breakfast was just a selection of things that come from supermarket that you could throw together yourself. For the price I'd expect more than a hash brown I could buy in the frozen section, couple of kranskies and cheap bacon, had some of the mediocre creamy mushrooms, spinach and eggs. It was served on a long thin plate, which looked overcrowded because it was small. Very disappointing! It was pretty empty and I understand why now. Management go and eat at some of the excellent cafes in the area and get some ideas of how good food can be with just a tiny bit more effort!
DO NOT GO TO PAPA MO'S TO EAT. Last night we went there for my daughter's birthday. We booked, specifying it was for a birthday and arrived at 6.30pm. After our order had been taken the waitress told us that the food would be half an hour. We asked for the children's food soonest and they said yes. More than one hour later we asked the waitress where our meal was. Her response was "i don't know, there is no way for me to tell". After we asked her ti check the docket, she said they would be plating it up soon. We then spoke to the Duty Manager who got the meals out to us almost immediately. The food was ok. When we came to pay, a couple at a table near the till were asking where their meal was after an hour. The Duty Manager offered us a voucher for $20, on a bill of over $200. Not enough to buy a meal. As we were walking to the car, we met another couple who had also waited for more than an hour.
We booked for 4 people for rib night a week ago as we hadn't been for rib night before but just before we sat down they said there was only 3 rib meals left. Felt very disappointed so ordered pork belly bites to be told they had run out also. Surely if people are booking for rib night there should be enough ribs, especially if booked well in advance otherwise a waste of time. We are regulars at this establishment but probably wont eat there again. Staff are always friendly though
