We had 5 different types of pancakes. I love sweets but they were too sweet for me. The pancakes look amazing but I think it is too much sugar to have in just one plate. Customer service was OK and the toilets were clean .
Pancakes on the Rocks at Northmead is the perfect stop for a filling breakfast, lunch or dinner. I've been twice now and the staff are always accommodating and the food comes out quite fast. Even during peak hour times, there's never been a long wait. The food portions are quite large so it's great value for money. You order via your phone and the system is quite simple to follow. Never had a bad meal here and left satisfied and full, their pancakes are delicious and the savoury options are just as yummy. This is a Family-friendly business and there's even a nice shady outdoor area, if you prefer eating outside. Good air-conditioning and clean bathroom facilities. What more could you want?
I can remember dining at the various 'Pancakes' restaurants since the original opened in the 1980s in Sydney ...and it's wonderful knowing that I can stop nearby at Northmead to enjoy some of my classic favorites that they still list on their menu. The dishes are freshly prepared and I never have to wait long for them to be delivered to our table. The presentations and consistency is excellent. I've recently stopped here to meet friends for lunch or to enjoy a dinner. The food is delicious, their pancakes taste as good as they did decades ago and their menu is still somewhat varied with gluten-free options available. They also serve crepes, ribs, chicken schnitzel, fish, beef brisket and salads. I find their pricing extremely reasonable. You can stop by for a meetup with friends, there's an all-day breakfast menu and you can snack over coffee or indulge yourself with the varied alternatives on the full menu. The restaurant has embraced the recent trend of QR-Code activated menus and prepaying methods that have arrived on the scene in recent years. But I guess that this also speeds up the order process and keep the prices reasonable. The friendly staff at Pancakes On The Rocks at Northmead are only too happy to assist with additional requirements. The restaurant is clean, the menu is appealing and the staff are polite and helpful. I can't ask for more than that! Looking forward to returning.
I’m always impressed by how consistent Pancakes on the Rocks has been over many years and no matter which venue you visit. Northmead restaurant was as good as the others. Soft, fluffy, decadent pancakes. Service was really attentive and friendly. Servings are generous and prices reasonable. A family favourite!
Once of the very famous place. Good foods and price fair. Now no menu but you can get a QR code to order and pay in your phone. No service anymore. Overall is easy to order and pay.Food: 5/5
Generous portions. We ordered the big breakfast pancakes and the lemon meringue pancakes. The big breakfast pancakes were interesting, the scrambled eggs seemed like it was from a packet that their microwaved, the hasbrown wasn't great.. it was falling apart and very oily. The lemon meringue pancakes were the better one out of the two. Not too sweet. We also ordered two coffees which was alright. Both were very milky. The service was good, the waiter was attentive and friendly. There was plenty of social distancing between tables.
This place used to be famous and busy when we were younger at the rocks, however we had dissapointing experience at northmead We ordered- Beef and pork ribs. The only thing was nice was the chips. Both ribs had minimal sauce and wasn’t marinated or had spice rubs on them. They were tasteless and pork ribs had that smell. Pancakes were average and that was another disappointment. The only good dish was chicken Cesar salad that saved the evening. Service was good but food was a major let down. Definitely first and last with this place and our kids agreed
1st time at this location for Good Friday dinner 16.4.22 Great service & fast turnaround Loved the American beef brisket & beef back ribs - especially when both were served hot it's how I like my food Minus 1 star because our raspberry white choc waffle dessert was too tart/sour Also, some of the dough wasn't cooked & some tasted a bit burnt - thankfully I ordered an extra pancake, which was yum & the wedges are nicer at Beverley Hills, as they're thicker, fresher & don't taste refried/oily Overall we enjoyed our dinner & will definitely return
I have been coming here since it opened way back when and after a long absence and a feeling of nostalgia, I decided to visit for lunch. At first, I wasn't sure if it was still opened or had shut down as there were no customers or anyone in sight. A waitress finally appeared and told me to sit anywhere and that I was to use the QR code to order and pay. Being so empty, I assumed that service would be more personable, but no. That was the extent of her welcome. I the proceeded to navigate the virtual menu and placed my order for the beef short ribs the most expensive item on their menu and one that I had frequently tried in the past. What was placed in front of me was quite disappointing. The meat seemed boiled, then baked, then microwaved. Extremely dry and smelling of reheated meat. The sauce covering the meat was a jelly like substance, obviously needing a little more reheating. I am not one to ever send anything back, but it was inedible. I asked the waitress if it had been microwaved and she did not answer or apologise but suggested I change my order. I did, to a steak medium rare. The steak that arrived was blue, barely cooked except for the charcoal grill marks and completely lacking any seasoning except for the charcoal taste. The salad was wilted and sad looking with cucumbers frilled and dry from the days kept cut in the refrigerator. The only plus on the plate was the wedge/fries. I felt too bad to send it back again and took it away, telling her that I would cook it at home. After asking for the price difference in the two meals back as she did not ever suggest it, I was told they would have to refund my first purchase and I would not get the money back for 5 business days, but I would have to pay now for the second meal. A little unsettling after a disastrous dining experience.
Had nachos, wedges and calamari and it was overall good but not amazing. The portion was good but the sauce for the wedges costs 2.50 each. So if you get sour cream and sweet chilli, they're charged separately and costs 5 dollars which is quite expensive for sauce. Order and pay through QR code.Food: 4/5
