The knife used to cut fruit on my plate had been used to cut onions, which made the fruit taste like onions. Food lacked flavour. My partner and I spent $50 and our appetite were not satisfied. Disappointing.
I come here regularly with my wife and the food is always fresh and tasty. The staff can be a little hit and miss in their friendliness but I go for the food and coconut milk coffee. Some more comfy seating would be a good addition tho.
Absolutely love this place.. Its our go to brunch place on Sundays. Was nice to try the new salad, chicken, bacon and avocado, a little too much oil on there for me but other than that I'd definately have it again. My partner loved the almond waffles so that's what she has all the time!!!
Paleo friendly cafe in the suburb~ Like it very much~ All the healthy choice, don't have to be guilty about having a weekend brunch~ The taste is not exceptional but not bad either...
I have been here a lot - nice little play area for my 1 year old and yummy food. Today however there was a long hair in my sausage roll gross!. Told the staff and they refunded me which was good. I did notice the chefs don't wear hats though? Not hygienic guys! Next time it'll just be coffee for me :
Extremely disappointed with this place.... after hearing about it we were so excited to head out here for lunch as it seems to be the only paleo option in west Auckland. After we had ordered our meals we were informed that they were out of bone broth and salmon. With better organization this could have been prevented knowing how long it takes with bone broth or at least taken off the menu... We sat waited and even though we had spent $80 on lunch not a single glass of water was brought over. Half our order was forgotten and we had to remind staff... to be honest its the customer service that massively lets down this place when it has such wonderful potential. My partner also found a hair in his meal which is beyond disgusting. My mince was so oily literally 2 inches of oil. Following a paleo diet I understand whats involved but this much oil and a HAIR is unacceptable standards. The prices are also extremely steep. $9 for a smoothie made with only ice and a scoop of protein is a bit far fetched in my opinion. I hope this place gets better management sometime soon and invests in its customers properly. Such a shame as there is so much potential..
Coffee is awful never had a good one .yesterdays takeaway coffee took an hour to cool down after a severely burnt mouth, other coffee experiences have clearly not been made by someone who should know how to make coffee .Sorry I had high hopes for this place after experiencing the Australian paleo cafe's and this being the first in NZ from this chain! The food is yummy but overpriced.I ordered in house at one stage and they forgot half the ingredients in my meal and guess what I got a free coffee ! I will be back I love paleo
This place is fantastic, I bought the Paleo Café cookbook and I've made so many things from it, it's amazing, having the book won't stop me going to the café, I'm getting all my friends hooked, even the anti-Paleo crew. No matter what you think, it gives you inspiration and I have so many friends with children who have certain dietary requirements, this place ticks every box, I love it
If you're paleo, gluten free or celiac, dairy intolerant, 'clean', or just appreciate good food, Paleo Cafe is worth a visit. Excellent coffee, lovely staff, an extensive menu full of beautiful meals plus great cabinet food, there's no compromise on deliciousness despite everything being grain/dairy/sugar-free. Well worth the trek out West. This is how we should all be eating.
I had the caveman's breakfast. It was all cold, the egg was raw in places and overcooked in others, the meat was dry, and there was no sauce. The iced cacao was advertised as having maple syrup, but it came with honey. I will not be coming back.
