Located at 9/13 Hay Street, Haymarket, New South Wales, Australia nThese markets are probably Sydney’s most iconic. They are undergoing a transformation. It’s turning into a great Food and Beverage hub that has a great selection of food hawker style stalls to choose from. This is known as Hay St Market and is open 7 days. You still have the market stalls selling everything from tourist souvenirs, novelty costumes, sunglasses, clothing, leather goods and so much more. I feel it’s not a place to go to if you want good quality products or arts and crafts but you might find something that interests you. There’s also a fresh produce section and fish market. Above the markets is Market City Shopping Centre and the Asian Food Court. It’s definitely worth a visit and so easy to get to with the light rail just outside. Thumbs up!
First Impressions: New Eatery at Paddy’s MarketsnJust popped into the new eatery space at Paddy’s Markets for a recce on Saturday during the Easter long weekend and was pleasantly surprised by what we found!nThe space itself is quite striking - they’ve done a brilliant job with the design. The standout feature has to be the creative plastic crate ceiling installation, which adds a quirky artistic element to the whole atmosphere.nDespite being a Saturday on a long weekend, we were chuffed to find plenty of available seating. No awkward hovering around tables or elbowing your way to a spare chair - what a relief!nFood-wise, there’s a good variety of options to choose from. It is definitely slanted towards the carnivores among us, with numerous meat-heavy choices. Vegetarians will find a decent selection, though our vegan mates might struggle a bit with limited offerings. Personally, I’ve already earmarked Pasta e Basta for my next visit - their menu caught my eye straightaway.nThis place seems perfectly positioned for a cheeky bevvie and a bite before heading to a concert at ICC Darling Harbour. The proximity makes it an ideal pre-show spot without the usual CBD price tag.nOverall, a welcome addition to the Haymarket food scene that’s worth checking out, especially if you’re in the area for markets or entertainment.
Paddy's Market offers a classic flea market experience on a grand scale in Sydney. There's no shortage of things to look at, and you can definitely find some interesting bits and pieces if you're willing to explore.nnWhile my personal expectations leaned towards something a little different in terms of unique or artisanal finds, I have to say it struck me as a fantastic place for kids. The sheer volume and variety of affordable items, particularly toys and knick-knacks, would likely be a big hit. For those seeking a range of budget-friendly gifts and souvenirs of a similar style, Paddy's Market definitely delivers. It's worth a visit if you're after that traditional market atmosphere and have children to entertain.
Woooow, what a transition from the old style markets to uplifted shops and eatery. You can walk around the markets and buy your fruit and veg. than move to the eatery with so much variety. Prices are pretty good. Make sure to visit when you are in the area or make a day trip to indulge your self.
Really fun market to explore! There’s a huge variety of stuff—from clothes and key rings to tasty snacks. I recommend trying the different macadamia nuts—they’re so good! There’s also a fruit market where you can grab just 1–2 of each fruit to sample, which is super handy. The prices are cheap too, especially if you’re looking to grab some gifts or souvenirs. Bonus: the toilet is clean always a win. Definitely worth a visit!
