Wow wow wow, when I say I had the perfect boot buying experience. Every question answered and every concern dispelled. Em's badge said trainee but I felt the wisdom and knowledge of a seasoned veteran. Cant recommend this store enough, especially if they keep putting their faith in people like Em!
First time going to Paddy Pallin! Firstly, it had such a great range of products and a huge wall of backpacks - heaps more compared to other outdoor outfitters. Secondly, I had a great experience with Tim helping me out with a backpack for my trip. The team was really lovely with ordering it in from an outer state store and it arrived really quickly. Tim was awesome and really generous with his time and attention! Thanks Tim :
Great starting place to check out outdoor gear, get advice and try it on. As much of the outdoor apparel in Melbourne, it will be expensive. Keep an eye on their sales and register to their "club" for some type of discount. Customer service is good and willing to help.
The staff here are great. They take the time to understand your mission and set you up with the right gear. Proper gear for real out and about adventure.
I had a great experience. Needed new hiking boots and Anita was really kind and helped me a lot. I can only recommend going there if you need anything for an upcoming hike!

The Melbourne store is quite large especially compared with the Sydney one and well stocked with lots of friendly and helpful staff.
Large collection of outdoor gear. Helpful staff. Not cheap but I haven't found cheap outdoor gear yet anywhere else either.
