I recently left plc and personally found it terrible they put A-LOT of high expectations on the students and the work load is Just as bad. Once in 4th grade I got in trouble for not knowing what a peace sign backwards was and both teacher were very rude and mean for singling me out and in the end making me cry home. Little was done. Not only that but the uniforms are VERY strict even if u get second hand socks that look the same as the ones from the shop but without their logo the student will get in trouble which is not only difficult for the parents but also for the kid. Even if a girl is wearing earring that are the slightest dangling they will get in a-lot of trouble and be targeted by a teacher. Even having ur hair out is not allowed which I find cna be very annoying and hard for stressed mum and dads that are late for school and forgot to do their kids or ect- overall the teacher were very strict and in some instances rlly mean. Yelling at an entire grade for one kids mistake should not be allowed and can trigger some kids who do not like yelling. And if ur child has special needs I can guarantee you they most likely won’t be met and if they are it is done very poorly. Again alot of pressure on the kids academically wise and overall I do not recommend this school to any kid who is not willing to deal with this.
We have been discussing with the school for 2 months and everything was good to start in 2024. We flew from interstate to visit the school in person and moved house from VIC to a place close to the school and far from work!. Last week, they advised by email that one of my children is unable to start in 2024 and needs to join the waiting list because he requires learning enrichment program. Not sure why this hasn't been communicated before as a potential risk. Be aware of this lack of transparency/communication from school. Definitely they can't be trusted.
Wonderful school! My son is in grade 3 and recently transferred from another school. The variety of programs offered here are extensive and he loves the music and sport classes. The teachers are amazing and make us feel part of the community. I would absolutely recommend this school.
My God! Stepping into this school felt like finally sitting down after a life of standing up! This paradise For lack of a more vehement term commanded such a majestic aura that my corporeal words could not even begin to describe in full. Take my word for it - if you are even considering going here for tourism, I can vouch for not only its unfounded beauty and incredible staff, but the unbelievable spiritual awakening I experienced just setting my unworthy feet upon the divine campus. What a school. What a location. God. 10/5 stars. Robert
Parents need to consider the needs of their children when choosing this school. In our experience, the junior school is not able to cater well for children who are intellectually gifted, require additional support, or have any additional needs. Parents should also be aware that the junior school allows teachers to have their own children in their classes i.e. teachers teaching and marking their own children. Cannot fault the community: largely the families at this school are wonderful. Also, this school has a very good handle on dealing with inappropriate student behaviours e.g. bullying and name calling. The school grounds are dated, and facilities are limited for the junior school - the school is in the process of upgrading the junior school, so this will change. The quality of teaching in the junior school is average, at best. Although most of the teachers are very kind and well intentioned. To be absolutely clear, this school is not a bad school. However, for our family, the quality was not there for the fees charged. Please keep in mind that our experience is unique to our family. So, if your child requires academic extension/challenge, or any form of additional support, the junior school is probably not the right fit for your child.
My Grandchildren attend Pacific Lutheran College and we couldn’t be more delighted with their educational outcomes and genuine care for students. PLC is one of those standout schools that provides wonderful opportunities for the students.
Did not cater to my intellectual needs as a forever sigma male. SIGMAS UNITE!
Teachers here have a tendency to negate and belittle students for not understanding material. The uniform policy is inconsistent and overly strict, with some students being favoured over others. I attended this school for 5 years and did not enjoy it. Consider an alternative as this school is inconsistent and unfortunate to call yourself a "member" of.
The school encourages students to have aspirations and promotes wellbeing. Building on student strengths. I have been very happy with this school, staff and the supporting environment it offers.
This school is complicated, yet they do offer great subjects and their teachers and staff are wonderful, but sometimes you don't receive much help. Overall, the staff and teachers are very kind, caring and the PC Groups are amazing. Thanks Mrs Stone for memories and I hope I will see you again. Buttman
