Every hostel owner should do two things:n1 Mystery shop a stay in their own hostel to know what it's missing.n2 Stay at Pacific House to see what is possible.nAll the little touches add up. Soap dispensers in every shower; curtains around every bunk. Charger port and reading light at every bunk. Cafe attached on premises with discounts if you're staying there. Plus free events every day like walking tours, board games, wine and cheese night.nThe building is beautiful - larger central staircase. Heritage feel with modern amenities.nThe location is also great - a short walk to good tourist attractions like the gallery and botanical gardens, the CBD. But also in a quiet little tucked away spot that feels safe.nThe staff are great too. Couldn't recommend it enough.
This hostel is by far the best I’ve ever stayed at. The building and interior is beautiful. I love that the beds have curtains, which gives you privacy in the shared dorms. The cleanliness of the bathrooms are really good too. It’s a very social hostel, but still quiet and respectful. Everyday they have minimum 2 free activities, where you meet other travellers and easily make friends. Would highly recommend staying at Pacific House!! 10/10
Pacific House Hostel was my first home in Australia and the place where I found a family.nI never felt alone here. On my very first day, it was actually Stephanie from the staff who made me feel welcome and at ease.nnThe entire team is incredibly kind, friendly, and always available to help.nThe hostel is super clean, with rooms and bathrooms cleaned multiple times a day.nThere’s a large, cozy TV room with comfy sofas, plus other chill areas where you can relax or meet new people.nnHonestly, it feels more like a hotel than a hostel, even the entrance hall has sofas where you can relax or wait for your check-in in comfort.nnThe rooms are spacious, with lockers and beds equipped with privacy curtains, which I really appreciated.nEvery day there are different activities organized by the staff that you can join, making it easy to socialise and have fun.nnRating: 10/10. Highly recommended!
I’ve been here for a while now and honestly, I couldn’t have asked for a better place. From the very first day I felt welcomed and at ease. It truly feels like home, more like staying with friends than just being a guest in a hostel.nThe common areas are big and super cozy, perfect for chilling, chatting or meeting people from all over the world. Every morning there’s free breakfast, which always makes the start of the day nicer and brings people together around the table.nRooms are spacious and clean, and the bathrooms are always spotless. You can really feel that the staff cares about making this place as comfortable and welcoming as possible.nSpeaking of the staff, they’re amazing. So kind, friendly and always there to help or just have a nice chat. There’s a real sense of community and family here. You never feel alone because there’s always someone around to laugh with, talk to or explore the city together.nWith all the weekly activities the hostel organizes there’s always something fun happening. Whether you’re traveling solo or with friends, you’ll instantly feel part of something special.nIt’s not just a place to sleep. It’s a place to belong. Truly a home away from home. Highly recommended.
The location is great and inside an old classical building with nice coffees around and walking distance to the botanical gardens, museums, cathedral and opera house. The staff is super kind and they have two free activities per day that you can subscribe and participate in. They work with an app that is very useful, easy to work with and brings a lot of freedom to your stay. Beds are comfortable with an individual light, curtains and an USB plug that helps to keep your privacy. The check out is at 10 am and the check in is strictly at 2 pm sharp and not one minute before, but you can use the facilities before. Pillows are to be improved. The shower cubicles are not many 3 per floor and, depending on your schedule, you can face some traffic there.
