Amazing place ! I stayed 2 months at PCL. Staff is very welcoming, helping, friendly. You can work there or find a job at the mount. They offer the possibility to have a long term room if you want to stay for a long period. Place very clean, kitchen with everything you need to cook great meals. Everything is very well maintained. We feel good there !

Stayed here numerous times over the past ten years and consistently a great experience. All areas are clean, staff super friendly and guests always happy to share a yarn. Thoroughly deserves the numerous awards it has won over the years. Plenty of different dorm types to choose from plus private room is a good size with own sink. TV room very social as is the kitchen leading to an outside covered area.

Super cool hostel, super cool people. Would definitely recommend to travellers!! Great communal areas, free on site parking and free surfboard rentals…and only 10 min walk to the beach.  Walkability: So close to the beach, restaurants, bars and about a half hour walk to the Mount itself

Hands down one of the best hostels in NZ if not the best. Hostel is incredibly clean regardless of how busy it is.  Staff are friendly and made me feel welcome as soon as I walked through the door. Highly recommend if you are looking for a fun,  friendly and clean environment. 10/10Rooms: 5/5

Beautiful hostel. U can book share room or private room. All comfort zone depends on you. We booked private room. Little bit price high of course. But so quit and so comfort. In room very small place but enough. Toilet and shower together in corridor and some rooms together using. For us was everything good. Only i didnt like where is table tennis room there carpet or sofas amazing bad smells. Because boys barefoot play table tennis and they are so sweaty and amazing sweaty smell. Thats not good. And kitchen so busy. All time busy. But a lot things u can cook everything and u can wash your dishes. Thats also okay. They have laundry for wash 2 dollar and for dry also 2 dollar. If u dont cook u can go 2 minute Mcdonalds so close. Or pizzahut 10 15 minute to walk. Tauranga center by car 15 minute. If u will stay here you have visit “Mount Maunganui” amazing place omggggggg. I love so muchhhhhh!!!!!!! And u can walk at the beach also so beautiful views

Amazing location if you want to visit the mount. I stayed long term and has zero complaints, the staff go above and beyond to accommodate you and ensure you have a good stay. The rooms and bathrooms are cleaned daily to a excellent standard! Kitchen is very spacious with a number of cooking/cleaning stations and if you want to relax in the evenings they have a great couch room where people come together and chill out

Wow! Just wow! I have been on NZ for almost a year, Been in over 10 hostels in NZ  and can say without a doubt that PCL is by far the best hostel for those that are traveling. The layout of the hostel is perfect for social gatherings and situated in a way to make new friends from all over the world. The hostel is clean and staff make you feel like you are at home. Highly recommend.

Yes staff good.  Only problem someone stole. All my food. Really upset as cheese factory chch.   Bought alot cheese give family. Can't buy cheese north island.  Going be up north another few weeks. Thx DebbieRooms: 4/5

I have just completed a five night stay with a large group of 12 to 13 year old children competing at the AIMS games.  Being a senior citizen I haven’t stayed in anything much below 4star for many years and was a bit apprehensive. I needn’t have been. My room was a good size with a comfortable double bed, storage and a hand basin. The bathroom next door was well kept and shared with two other rooms. Centrally located the lodge has a comfortable lounge with a library of paper backs and games for wet days. The multi national staff were most obliging and there is plenty of off street parking. Highly recommended
