The quality has reduced significantly since this place changed from Sushi Rio to Ozeki Sushi. I went here for lunch a few weeks back. The sushi rice does not have any vinegar and is very hard. Very sad.
Very good overall. Nice selection of sushi train yummies.
Update 2: This business is Closed. No longer called Ozeki and there was a sign stating it does not accept entertainment book vouchers. Updated review: The service and the dishes are not like it used to be. I'd rate it as an okay place, but there are so many alternatives in Chatswood that we just don't bother coming here anymore, when we used to come heaps I left the old review below from a couple of years back. Old review: My children love this sushi train. It is not the cheapest in Chatswood, but definitely consistent with their quality. The staff are friendly and polite. The kids favourite dish is the Tobiko flying fish roe boat, which they will eat by the boat-load. We miss the Chicken udon noodles, which disappeared from the menu a few months ago. Definitely family friendly and worth waiting when there is a queue.
This is certainly the best sushi joint in Chatswood, if not the cheapest. Portion sizes are large and filling, and each piece is delicately made. As a lover of salmon sushi, this place has never disappointed. However, do not try the sea-urchin - although the latest hipster fashion, I can assure you that exorbitant price $6.50 does not in any way match its terrible taste. The interior decor is nice, if not particularly elaborate. Even though it is a sushi train, I have never felt like I've been crammed in, as if stuck in a tin of sardines, and background chatter is a pleasant buzz. A trip here is certainly one you will not regret. The takeaway packed meals for $10.80 are an excellent option if one is either on a budget or in a hurry.
Great quality sushi and i think they have the widest range of selections amongst other sushi place nearby. Taste great and the dishes aren't expensive. You can order dishes to be cook straight away and they don't take long. The service is average though. No that they're not doing a good job, they seem to be forgetful, no very responsive and not really keeping the place clean and tidy.
The decor at the Chatswood Chase sushi train is quite sleek and cool, and the service matches it well with the promptness and efficiency of the staff. Excellent variety of sushi and the seafood here is pretty fresh. Well priced as well which is definitely a bonus!
Better than sushi train, larger than your traditional sushi restaurant. The sushi is very fresh, soft shell crab is good and my daughter loves the noodles. We go here every few weeks.
First of all service was very slow and waitress was extremely rude. Asked for water twice and had to ask the same waitress again for it. When asked for miso soup, was given a very poor reaction and facial expression rolling of eyes. Then had to ask for a spoon which was then abruptly dumped into the bowl of lukewarm miso soup. Standard of service really masks the sub standard quality of the food. Would advise to go elsewhere for a better sushi train in chatswood. Variety of sushi could improve amongst other things
I disagree with many of the recent reviews, the sushi is actually very good, fresh and $3.50 per plate unless stated otherwise. The only other place in chatswood of similar quality is Makoto. The name of the restaurant is also now called Sushi Rio and it's no longer Ozeki Sushi.
I'm a regular customer of this restaurant and I've always been impressed with the quality of the food and customer service from the staff. However, I suspect that this restaurant was recently taken over by new management, as the staff looked completely different and definitely lacked the exceptional customer service I previously experienced. This japanese restaurant now lacks authenticity: - Not a single person greeted us with "Irasshaimase" upon entering - Japanese are known for their exceptional politeness and manners, which the current Korean staff lack. - The Korean female staff rudely avoid eye contact or having to speak to customers at all. - The girl at the register did not bother saying thank you when you pay and leave the restaurant. In fact, she also did not bother looking customers in the eye or even saying a word. We were simply handed the eftpos machine. - The only person who had decent manners and attitude was the man who appeared to be the manager. Very disappointing recent experience, I hope the staff learn to brush up on their customer service skills. I've experienced better service at a Korean BBQ place, let alone a Japanese Sushi Bar.
