Story

Oxford Larder is a Contemporary Corner Store – Specialty café – A hybrid version of a traditional café & small retail space. Oxford Larder explores the fusion of seasonally sourced farm-to-door produce, on-trend fresh ingredients & European fine traditions in a Larder & provedore.

Service, Nutrition & Visual merchandising of our products and the aesthetic treatments of our café are all fundamental to the culture and environment. you can eat in or take-away.

Our produce and product is curiously sourced and curated for our unique Collingwood location nestled in-between the historic Foy & Gibson warehouse precinct & a stone’s throw from South of Johnston.

The vital ingredient of our approach is one of Nutritional Well-being, farm-to-door fresh produce and products that complement a humble and simple lifestyle.

"Regulars at South of Johnston loved the menu, but they also wanted something simpler. Owners Stuart McKenzie and Simon Carver answered with Oxford Larder in 2016.In the tiny corner kitchen, chef Glenn Bourke ex-Phillipa’s and Spoonful plates up home-style meals that go easy on sugar, oil, onion and garlic. Coeliacs and FODMAP-avoiders will feel at ease here.Beyond baked eggs, porridge and potato waffles, it’s all about quiches, veggie fritters, meatballs and other pre-made takeaway dishes that transcend the sandwich. Vegetables always figure strongly in the display cabinets."

Great place!! Good music, cheap yummy food. Great takeaway selection. And the cappuccino has proper chocolate so feels a bit special
With a low pitched atmosphere but still emitting a warm light all over. Loved their lunchbox specials so fresh and exotic and every staff member was polite and professional. You will be surprised even before entering this place once you turn to face the corner it is situated.
Nice cafe, quite a small one so there isnt a lot of room and it can get semi busy at lunch time. The menu is a bit different to your typical cafe. They have pre made everything which you can view in the cabinet and then you choose options. Example, I had the chicken schnitzel with all the different types of salads. Good tasting food and the coffee was nice ad well.
Messed up my coffee order. Gave me a regular flat white instead of oat flat white. Only realised when I got home - which is fun because I’m lactose intolerant. Worst part is, I spoke to someone on the phone and they insisted the staff never get the order wrong. I guess my stomach is a liar then : On top of that, service is pretty poor. Won’t ever be going back.
An obviously local favourite with an established clientele. Great food, good service and a whole lot of preserves and teas and books on sale. Browsing those extras is an additional delight. My kind of place. Coffee rates very well.
In a street now populated with a variety of food places, Oxford Larder goes about its business quietly but doing everything right. The chicken, leek and bacon pie hit the spot and the coffee, well as you can see, was staring right back at me in a good way!
Brioche French toast and Bacon was delicious. Great little spot in Collingwood for brunch and coffee!
Favourite local spot second only to sister cafe South of Johnston for the past year and hopefully many more to come. Coffee and friendly service is consistent, Keep cup discounts are welcomed, fresh, tasty and great value food. Also brilliant for last-minute Victorian made gifts candles, etc. The fritters/rotating salad lunch box is always delicious and recently had a vegan Kingston biscuit that was simply melt in your mouth *chefs kiss*
Cute little cafe with good coffee and friendly service. Love the selection of sweet treats! I need to come back to try the food.
the staff are so welcoming and genuine, service was really quick and coffee was perfect. food was really tastey too. super reliable highly recommend :
