Several visits to this waterfall and I am always blown away by its beauty. The late storm made it even more dramatically gorgeous. Short walk down to reach it it's pretty close to the road. Perfect spot for meditation, picnic unless it's heavy rain,...! Worth a quick or longer stop
Stunning waterfall & even more beautiful for swimming. Very cold and fresh but totally worth it on a hot day. Busy little spot but more than enough room for everyone.
Only couple of minutes walk from the car park. A very pleasant experience at this waterfall. Nice cold water to enjoy on a warm summer day.
Spectacular waterfall on a sunny day after weeks of rain. Great spot for a dip if you like cold water
This is just a hidden gem, a beautiful with easy access place to visit. Have been to the areas pretty a few times, happened to have noticed and visited, and amazed by its beauty.
The picturesque staircase Owharoa Falls is made up of three different waterfalls and is nestled near the heart of the stunning Karangahake Gorge It cascades down into the Ohinemuri River, which flows through beautiful farmlands and heritage sites, from Waihi to Waikino and beyond. It's a popular stop on the Hauraki Rail Trail This spot is accessed from Waitawhata Road, and is only about 50m along a gravel path with 5 steps. There is limited parking and only a very small signboard, which I missed the first time around It is a popular picnic and swimming spot ‍ although it is very deep in places, has hazardous features like snags slippery rocks, and is prone to sudden strong currents Don't miss this scenic spot especially after some heavy rainfall if you're ever in the area
The falls were worth 5 stars today, especially after all the rain weve had. They are only a 30 seconds from the main road through the gorge. The ride from Paeroa through to Waihi is a great scenic ride apart from all the goldfield stuff, which is worth vising also.
Absolutely beautiful, quick little walk to waterfall.
Close to road, few park places on side of road. Nice to visit if you have way around.
Went to the falls after quite a bit of rainfall.... it looked awesome!
