Visited mid-week during lunchtime. It was a quiet period with only a few diners. Customer service was good. The Angus Porterhouse steak was not bad. I ordered medium and I think it was cooked a little bit over that but still acceptable. The Pork Ribs were quite delicious. Had the meal with a pint of beer. There's a bar available to order alcohol + other drinks. Overall, it was a good experience.
Only a few people whenever we eat here. Wagyu Burger is my favorite. Steaks are ok - not many places get it right. No complaints with service.
There were only 2 couples in the entire restaurant. We ordered our entree, mains with drinks. After 40 minutes we had not received our drinks or entree which was a simple garlic bread. There was no contact from any waiters and led to us walking out without any food or drinks. Luckily Hurricanes is just around the corner with much better food, service and comparable price. Will be avoiding outback jacks in future.
I visited Outback Jacks Top Ryde for the first time, taking advantage of a promo with the Cinema for 25%off with movie ticket. I was super impressed!!! The staff were friendly, efficient, the food service was extremely quick and the food? omg! The meat just fell of the bone from the ribs & melted in my mouth. The sauce was amazing & I had a great experience! Keep it up
- The waiter asked us no less than 6 times in 15 minutes if we were ready to order. At one point my wife had left the table. He approached and asked if we were ready to order. I told him my wife wasn't here right now and we'd have to wait for her until we could order didn't he notice his party of 3 turned to a party of 2? We were his only table. 3 minutes later he returned, but my wife still hadn't. I had to tell him again that we were still waiting. It made for a very awkward experience. - Our cocktails were very disappointing and had too much booze. - I wasn't warned that my plate had been in the oven and was scalding to the touch. Of course I touched it and burned myself pretty severely. - I ordered a half rack of ribs. They arrived as individual ribs, not as a rack. Pretty disappointing. Flavour wise, they were just ok. They were a bit dry, and the sauce seemed like it was slapped on top instead of marinated. They were the same price as the ribs at Hurricanes which is in the same complex at the opposite end, but were nowhere near the same quality. Very disappointing.
I never ever ever write reviews. For anything. But this was so bad I just couldn't help it. Where do I even start? I should have taken those negative reviews more seriously. What a waste of $85! My family and I ordered one serving of fish and chips $22, spicy chook burger $17, travellers special $27 and one small coleslaw $5. After waiting an hour and a half, the food was finally delivered. The fish and chips were nothing but 3 over cooked frozen fish fillets drenched in oil. You could count the "side" of chips on one hand as well as the side salad that consisted of literally one lettuce leaf cut into two and 2 shreds of paper thin carrot drowned in what clearly tasted like bottled Italian dressing you buy from the supermarkets. I had the travellers special. For $27 you expect more than just chips that you could yet again count on your hands. An extra $3 for sauce will be charged because $27 for steak and chips isn't enough. They forgot to mention the sauce provided is poured from a masterfoods bottle. To add insult to injury, I asked for that 250g $27 steak to be cooked medium but was cooked well done. Although, I will credit where credit is due. My mum did give compliments to the burger. She mentioned the chicken was cooked well and had a nice flavour. But yet again, the burger was served on the world smallest bun and served with very few chips. I didn't even bother eating the coleslaw. It was drowned in dressing. It looked like a whole 1kg tub of mayo was poured into a half a cup of cabbage. Absolutely foul. No value for money. No value for food. No value for time. I should have just gone to maccas.
We often have events at our office- Located in the Top Ryde area- and we decided to trial the Outback Jack's, All I can say is that will never happen again. The steak was Over Done, the Salad was soggy and the Chips were cold and oily. Having been to other outlets, I never expected this. They had a promo out the front which was not Honoured because we did not want to dine in and then they charged us for the take-away containers. the state of crap they serve up as food is below average. NEVER AGAIN.
The experience is less than impressive than what the website promises. The meat area is essentially a butcher like fridge thing, and the walk in wine room, is pretty small with simple wine racks. Food was ordinary and the service was ordinary. Error assays also found on the final bill. Never again, even if outback jacks opens up elsewhere as the top ryde store ruined my experience with this chain.
If I could give it a zero I would. Took over an hour to cook 2 steaks and we wanted them medium rare...one steak came out completely overcooked and the other was a T-bone with one side almost raw and the other side overcooked. For 2 people this meal was over $100. How is this place still in business
The worst dining experience ever!! Never ever will go back to Top Ryde Outback Jacks. It is dis organised, the staff didn't know what they were doing, there was no cutlery on the table,we had ask for it after our meals, we had to wait 45 minutes for our basic meals, the presentation was appalling and the food was cold. Score out of 10=0. We will never go back
