Poor quality of teaching as the teachers can't even answer my child's senior 12 spec maths questions thats printed in the text. Doubt their teachers ability to do a good job at educating senior maths and science students. Extremely ignorant at managing students stress and mental health; ignoring students' needs. Getting extra money from students' family by having several 'casual day' donations and poor decorated formal events and graduation dinner. My child feels neglected and threatened while at school. Also, the school condoned racism and eventually lead to a protest from students. Please think carefully about sending you daughter to this school.SHE WILL NOT REACH HER FULL POTENTIAL AT THIS SCHOOL.
Overall good school, students and staff,nHowever, since the changing of the principle, there has many so many problems in regards to staffs leaving and students. As a past student I feel disappointed in how the school has been handling some matters with families, specially mine. It’s been four years since my grads, and the school is demanding for me to pay the school because my mum had not discussed the years 12 school fees, and the school has threatened my family that they will take us to court if the payment had not been made. We have been paying the $6000+ fine since the start of 2018, however the school had not told us about such conditions prior to my graduation.
My experience here was one that has had such an effect on me since I attended in 2010, and unfortunately the experience with teachers, specifically one, who at this point I would rather not name, hindered my personal growth in many ways which is why I have now chosen to leave a review of this experience. Although it’s been a long time since I attended, it is important that teachers are held responsible for the effect that their treatment and behaviour can have on any students who attend their classes, and that there is space for students to feel comfortable to make a complaint regarding a teacher, which I hope is the case now. In my experience with a specific teacher at this college who I believe is still active I was on the receiving end of ill treatment that upon much reflection I still believe was not provoked in any way, I was a very reserved student and used to leave me dreading attending the college, or her classes to the point of feeling various symptoms of anxiety daily in those days. Since then, I was unable to move passed the trauma that was caused to me while at a tender age, by someone who should have been an assisting and encouraging figure in a students life in order to help them grow into society. Instead my experience was the complete opposite and not only put a significant delay on my growth as a student at the time, but also hindered my sense of self. Teachers and students both deserve to be treated with dignity and respect, and to be in a healthy educational environment, so every student has the ability to thrive. Students need both protection and prevention from being targeted by teachers and students, and vice versa. This review will hopefully encourage that prevention if there is not already a system in place, so students are in a safe and healthy learning environment, free of being targeted and no more students endure long term damage as a result of a teacher.
Good school with extensive education opportunities for girls.nTheir charity ethos very positive, with Christmas hampers for Vinnies and many other places during the year. Recommend checking the school for your daughter's education.
Lovely teachersnNot to lovely girls when I attended 2013-2017nMajority of teachers have best interests of the students at heart .nSenior campus facilities are great but junior campus is in bad shape eg vandalized desks, lockers and pinboards.nNew principal isn’t the best, seems to be more concerned about the length of the students skirts and if their hair is tied up over the education they receive. Much prefer Joy Bedford.nSome teachers delve in too deep about their personal lives Barker, Beekman, RobertsnOverall the school itself is good.
