We popped into Roy on East Ave for lunch today and left very happy. Three of us shared a relaxed, flavour-packed meal that really delivered.nnThe Vietnamese coffees were spot on – rich, smooth and with just the right kick. The strawberry iced tea with mint was a standout too: fresh, icy cold and super refreshing.nnThe crispy pork bowl stole the show. Perfectly crunchy pork paired with shredded lettuce, pickles, cucumber and vermicelli noodles, finished with fresh herbs, peanuts and fried shallots. A generous drizzle of nuoc cham dressing pulled everything together beautifully.nnThe atmosphere was lively and, if I’m being honest, a little noisy for this middle-aged geezer – but the friendly, funny staff more than made up for it and kept things feeling welcoming and fun.nnPortions were generous, flavours were clean and balanced, and it’s an easy spot for a casual lunch with friends. We’ll definitely be back.
Visited Easter Monday Perhaps not a good idea Waited 30 minutes for order to be taken and another 30 minutes for our coffee. The meal arrived soon after. Extremely noisy and although staff were friendly, service was disappointing. Window ledges could do with a good clean too
Seen this place in passing and thought that place looks really nice! Mentally locked in for next time on that road to stop for lunch!nAnyway, that time arrived, walked in for lunch, wow, it felt like a restaurant, table service, shown to a table, polite staff, order taken and served delicious food. This place had a super relaxed atmosphere awesome service and delicious food, definitely worth another trip back here.
Our local cafes weren’t open so we venture 1km south and suddenly found ourselves at this amazing cafe . The staff were friendly and even our server was from The Netherlands ! My daughter and I ordered the Eggs Benedict , I must add that we do love our food , my brother is a master chief in the Barossa and our family’s cookbook the Green and Gokd is still on sale around the world -101 years this year !nEggs Benedict is my usual go to breakfast where ever I travel around the world and it’s a barometer of how I rate the restaurant or cafe because it’s a dish that one of the ingredients can change the taste sensation . The toast was perfect Turkish style , we ordered the bacon which was not too crisp or under cooked , the sauce didn’t have the sting of a pre made sauce , the joy was once cutting through the egg white we were ‘ greeted’ with the bold golden yoke colour that my daughter exclaimed ‘ these must be Rohdes Eggs ‘ I agreed being the ‘ chook man on our farm ‘ I’m fussy and our families moods can be determined by whether or not the local supermarket has stocks of Rohdes Free Range Eggs from Tarlee . When we left the cafe a gentleman confirmed that they were indeed Rohde’s eggs by adding ‘ they cost a few cents more but they are worth it .nThat explains the philosophy of a great eatery by that comment id suggest product they use is top shelf .nCoffee was great as well .nHow good ? I’d travel 100 kms for breakfast here !n10/10 on every aspect .
Had a great gluten free mortadella and hot honey roll. The waitress was great and said extra care would be taken when making my roll as I’m a coeliac. It was delicious and iced latte was excellent. We sat outdoors and kids could play in the garden.
