We stayed at Otaki Motel just for a day, and while the unit definitely requires remodeling, it served its purpose for a short stay. Since it was the day after Christmas, the team made special arrangements for our check‑in, and the process was smooth and hassle‑free we truly appreciated that effort during the holiday period.nThe unit is old, and while we didn’t expect modern features, the least one hopes for is cleanliness. Unfortunately, some utensils seemed used and stacked as if they were clean, which was disappointing.nOverall, it was manageable for a one‑night stopover, but the place would benefit greatly from updates and better attention to cleanliness
Stay was only 1 night. Bathroom amazing. But cup/mug and plates were dirty, went to wash them scouring pad black & dirty. Outdoor seat was broken. Wiped table black stuff came off. Toaster not covered. The unit needed a good dust. Emailed owner, wasn’t happy with explanation, the unit had been like this for a long time, build up of dust, the scouring pad would only get like this over a long period of time, and not being washed. A lot of H&S concerns. Over priced. Needs a lot of TLC, could be a real gold mine if sorted out.
Very outdated and rundown. Trying to cook a meal was a nightmare with the tiny little kitchen and very well used and outdated cooking stoves etc with minimal plates and cutlery. Dishwashing liquid was very watery like it had been watered down. We got 2 units and both were in same condition with a very musty smelly smell. Doesn't match the photos advertised. We stayed at 2 motels in Blenheim for cheaper and they were very luxurious compared. This was a dump to be frank. Very over priced for what it is and would never stay here again or recommend to anyone.
A nice hotel for an overnight stay, super kind and friendly staff at reception. Heard a bit of road noise, and heard the train overnight a couple of times. Agree with review suggesting earplugs. Dated room but upgraded bathroom.
I was traveling to otaki for work apprenticeship course. I stayed here for two weeks, returning home for the weekend. I thought it was a nice stay for the price and would happily return again.
