Getting up close and personal with the butterflies was great. Get there early for the release of any new butterflies. It is humid so be prepared. As for the rest of the museum, awesome hands on science area... Great for the kids to learn and have fun!
Brilliant place for big and small kids. Butterflies are amazing! Butterfly release at 11am every morning. Dino exhibition and alot more going on at any given time. Would save this for a rainy day if you were on a trip. Butterfly and other exhibitions cost between 10-15$ per adult and slightly cheaper for children 3+. Highly recommend.
Great place. Very well presented. Some really good activities. The butterfly enclosure is a really cool experience, rather warm though. Some very good interactive things good for both kids and adults. Really helpful and friendly staff
I love going to museums around New Zealand and this is by far the best museum I've been to. I recommend going to the paid exhibits because they're really cheap, around $10 per person and they're super interesting. I had fun checking out the butterfly room they had.
The dinosaur exhibit would be great for younger children. One of the mechanical dinosaurs needed a bit of oil squeaky neck!. The exhibit may prove a bit short for adults. As for the rest of the museum, would definitely recommend for tourists, and I have very fond memories of Discovery World as a child!
A fantastic place, to know and interact with science. I spent a whole day here, and would not want to leave when 5pm, the museum closed.
Far better than Auckland museum. The kids discovery area was great for the adults as well. Fantastic time in the butterfly experience although the humidity was a killer! We almost didn’t visit this place and are so glad we did!
