If you’re considering staying at this hotel, think carefully about whether you’re a very deep sleeper with exceptional hearing. Otherwise, they won’t help you unless you can provide the exact room number of the source of the huge noise.nnI had an extremely unpleasant experience with this hotel connected to my apartment building. There always seem to be people making a huge noise in the middle of the night.nnFrom around 2:00 am to at least 5:00 am today, a large group of people were on the balcony causing a racket—shouting, singing, laughing, and smoking.nThe smoking is especially concerning, as a previous incident caused the fire alarm to go off at 2:00 am in Oros Hotel, waking up everyone in the building.nnI called the police twice, based on Victoria's nighttime noise regulations, but they said they couldn’t assist because the reception at Oros Hotel wasn’t answering, so they couldn’t get in.nnDuring a similar situation last time, I called and even walked into the reception myself. I showed them pictures and videos to demonstrate how disruptive it was and even tried to describe the approximate location from my side. Yet, I was told they needed the specific room number, or they wouldn’t do anything.nnHOW ON EARTH AM I SUPPOSED TO KNOW THAT???nnI kept all my doors and windows being tightly closed, the noise today was so loud it still woke me up—and it kept getting worse.nI finally opened the curtains, only to see that I wasn’t the only one disturbed; lights were turning on in other hotel rooms, clearly from other guests being woken up too.nI’m not sure if anyone else contacted reception to complain, but during those three hours, the noise never stopped. It seems like no one from the hotel came out to address the situation.nnThis was handled very poorly, showing a complete lack of responsibility to ensure a peaceful and restful environment for other guests.
Nice basic hotel - room was well appointed and quiet considering location. The location was good for our next stop for 4 stars.nnWe had a mid-night fire alarm evacuation which was handled pretty well. The fire exits were roomy and easy to navigate.nnI was a bit disappointed that the reception staff didn’t even acknowledge the evacuation when we checked out. Maybe an apology for the disruption would have flipped my score up.
A very comfortable stay here. Lovely clean room, very quiet & comfortable. I appreciated the security of underground parking - well worth the extra $10.
Rooms very dirty dusty, dirty toilet and we did complain to front desk but all they can do is send housekeeping the next day to clean. Still have to stay one more night.nnUpdate: They moved us to a different room unfortunately its the same story, dusty dirty and smelled like someone cooked spicy food in it. They then told me they will be unable to meet my standards so that's that.
My team had a terrible experience at the Oros in Oakleigh during their three nights. Rooms were uncomfortable, appliances did not work correctly and the customer service was non-existent. When the negative experience was brought up with management, the manager was aggressive, rude and did not provide any suitable resolution except for a $10 parking voucher. A sincere apology would have been fine.nnMy company has regular business in Oakleigh, but we will never be using Oros Hotel and Apartments again.nnEdit: Just as a note, it was 11:30PM when the hotel offered to change the room. My team were prepared to sleep, as they had an early work day in the morning. They were not offered to change the next day. The response from the hotel below also ignored the rude customer service provided by management, the issues with the TV in the hotel not working and a faulty fridge. I believe the response further shows a lack of care and is an attempt to pass along responsibility. Not a great look for Oros Hotels and Apartments in Oakleigh.
