I live near the restaurant and often go or take advantage of the speedy delivery and can recommend the Thai River for locals and foodies who like really good Thai - the menu has the traditional favourite soups, starters and mains with some more unusual items to spice it up. Prices for food are excellent, though wine is at normal London dining out prices. Decor inside is traditional Thai, a little dark but attractive and candle lit and staff are very attentive and friendly, there are also about four tables out on a front balcony for when the weather improves. A local treasure and a little hard to find, highly recommended.
Food was really good but service was awful. Staff were rude, pushy, and argumentative when we questioned an additional charge on our bill. They never brought some of the drinks we ordered, tried to take our food away before we'd finished eating it, never told us their card machine was out of action and just pointed us in the direction of a cash point when we came to pay, and gave us attitude when we suggested a sign advising people of cash only payment should be clearly visible. A real shame, because the food was excellent, but the staff ruined it.
This is the perfect neighborhood thai. Service is polite, food was excellent and well cooked - lemon ginger tea & Tom Yum Kai hit the spot and cured my cold!
I had a thai soup for starter and a plate of spicy seafood for main and everything was great. The seafood was cooked to perfection.
Fairly average Thai. Starters weren't hot, main was just OK. Didn't accept cards. Service was OK, but not amazing.
Nice food, good portion sizes, reasonable prices, friendly attentive staff. Nothing amazing, and nothing wrong either! Enjoy.
Service was okay, food was either tasteless or just over spiced.
