Only go there for all-you-can-eat lunch, their yam cha dishes taste good, but they don't always have what I want and the service is quite slow. Also the shop is kind of dated and dirty, they put used yam cha holders near the toliet.
Food was not to bad and bargain price for buffet lunches and dinner cheaper if paying by cash. Staff were helpful but don't expect service with a smile. Nit picking but have to pay extra for sauces that usually come with Yum Cha like spicy red sauce and soy sauce. Would come back if craving for yum cha and hungry like a hippo.
I was on the way to heaven with Mongolian Lamb and Fried Prawn dumplings...I thought this is going to be a 5 star experience...but thats where stairway to heaven ended and took a wrong turn. Long wait for food to arrive and few dishes not exactly as presented. Suddenly, PA system gone off with the volume 8/10 in the function area. Function group an infrastructure related company started their funcion and the presentation. Ruined my dinner. I am not sure if I want to be disturbed while eating and listening to some loud presentation speech. I will definitely not be coming back.
For the city, this is ok. Nice area to sit in and actually an hour is enough time for 2 people to enjoy lunch and a chat. Feels clean and presentable. A bit of a lack in food options but still good quality dim sums. I especially loved the egg tart pastries and the BBQ Pork pastry and Black Bean Pork Ribs.
I took my niece here for the all you can eat yum cha. The service was standard but efficient. We had quite a few different options and the steamed prawn dumplings were so good! They had a good selection of both steamed and fried. We had a few fried dishes, however I found them a tad oily. My niece loved them though. I was happy to pay the price for the meal. I do recommend bringing cash as they charge more for card, which I was a tad dissapointed in. I will come back again however.
Where to start. Customer service is terrible, being greeted with "don't waste any food" wasn't a great start. Despite being all you can eat they mark the dishes you have on a docket and constantly come around checking if your time is up and how much you've had - and the trolleys just stop coming around. It's not all you can eat, it's all they want you to eat. Food was also really average at best, which you would accept for the price, if the customer service was anywhere near acceptable. Absolutely terrible experience. Anyone who thinks this is good yum cha has never actually had good yum cha... Will not return.
Had the all you can eat yum cha for dinner. Tea was of good flavour. All the food was of good quality - nothing was a real standout, but it was all very tasty. Service was good, most staff speak Cantonese but some speak Mandarin, English of all was good. Would come again.
Booked a table in advance but once we got there we had to wait even though there where tables free. Staff where rude and had no clue about service. Once seated and we ordered food, it was horrible. Tasted dirty and prepared quickly. We only got to order 3 times then told kitchen closed. Nowhere near 10. Corkage is $16 per bottle not table which is ridiculous as I opened both bottles and poured for everyone. Will not be returning and will not recommend. Very very very disappointing.
Wanting a good Yum Cha we were recommended to the Suncrop Seafood Restaurant by a local Chinese friend. After reading the many reviews available we were surprised at how many of those were negative and we were almost put off. But, we decided to go and try for ourselves and we were pleasantly surprised. We arrived at 11:30am and were shown to a table. We elected to go for the "all you can eat" option at $24.80 per head, which was the weekend and holiday rate. Apparently is cheaper on weekdays. The staff were friendly and helpful, the food generally of a high standard and the frequency of well stocked trolleys was excellent. Important to say also was that each choice was hot and fresh. We are well travelled and love our Yum Cha, which we have experienced in several world cities, including Guangzhou. Whilst we have experienced better, we did enjoy our meal and we rate the Suncrop a good 4/5 overall. Don't be put off by other reviews of Suncrop - it is certainly a worthy choice of venue to eat.
I used a Groupon voucher for 10 course with 2 people. Was not the best was made to pay an extra $10 for 2 more dishes. We arrived also all you can eat time slot. Staff were ok and accommodation with wheeling around trolleys in steam baskets. Calamari rings I think felt like I was biting into a finger it was tough, cold and looked bad. Another pork dumpling was pink and minced with grizzle. I had desert tasted fresh and some other small wonton dishes was not worth the $50 spent between two people. Very disappointed as I met there to catchup with a friend to save money. We should have walked in on the all you can eat.
