The best chips in Shellharbour! Located in a great spot to take the family.
The chips I liked. The fish was over cooked and over salted.... didn't taste fresh...Very disappointing tbh.... I was quite surprised being next to the sea not to have fresh fish and chips. The fact it was busy across the Rd at the pools but yet there were barely anyone buying from the shop should've set warning signs‍. Never again.
No sure what the burgere are like but the fish and chips are very ordinary, disappointing they fish isn't fresh and only some unnamed pre-battered fish as an option, perhaps even frozen. And cash only, that's just unacceptable in 2021. I won't be going back.
The only family friendly fish and chip shop. Potatoes chips are made the old fashioned way by hand and through a cutter. None of this packet mass produced. Hamburgers are exceptional as well as the fish cakes. Theo, Johnny, Theo Jr and Carly Roy do an exceptional job.
Every time we go down south over the past 15 years we always make sure to drop in for lunch. Still has the old style takeaway fish n chip shop feeling like the old days and great food and a beautiful family that still runs it. My brother just moved to the area so gonna have a lot more excuses to go down there more often. Keep up the good work guys
Unfortunately probably the worst take away I have ever had. Fisherman's basket, and fish were horrible. I live in the country and would think a fish shop, with "awards" saying best fish in the area, and located on the coast would be nice. But I was wrong, wasted $55. At least the seagulls liked them. I'm not one to slag on a place, but dead set, it was a shocker.
Food was okay, the initial service wasn't bad but then again I was the only one there, however I felt like an ice cream and went in and was absolutely ignored. I spent $25.00 in there for 2 chicko rolls, small chips, 6 chicken bites and a water, even gave them a tip initially because of it being a small business and thought I want to support small business because of the struggle they would have had during Covid 19 but what a mistake! Not Happy Jan, I really wanted an ice cream but to be totally ignored oh did I mention no one else customer wise was in there!! Yes they saw me but just totally ignored the fact I was there.
The prices arent bad but it wasn't the nicest service. The burgers were average but the chips were not cooked properly or something because they tasted unusual for hand cut chips, not crispy and a bit hard.
Love this place. Best chips by far. Freshly cut every morning. Some people think the reviews are fake, but I was a local who went there often. Moved over two hrs away and still travel back there often for the chips
Fish cocktails were so good. Order about 4 each and a small chips. This place is cash only.
