This excellent restaurant is located on the main street of Clyde. The historically themed setting has been beautifully restored and has both indoor and outdoor areas. The food, presentation and service was excellent. High quality all round. Definitely recommend to all fans of fine dining.
Nice historical building well refurbished and restorated. The entrance slightly confusing, however the interior was well thought out and invokes the feeling of another era. The warmth was unfortunately lost with pressure of performance by the staff,and no doubt inexperience and training for their appointed roles. The food was excellent and balanced,well presented and prepared.The wait however was a little more than it should of been for the entrée. Very little in the way of great wines by the glass,which is a shame consideration given the fact that the place is so close to some fantastic "Local" vineyards which could easily replace the usual big New Zealand names that reflect other parts of the country.
This is a restaurant located in an old Victorian building, therefore it comes with all the old school charm. The ambience and layout is classy but not too over the top. Good - We ordered tha lamb rump and pork belly for dinner. The meals were promptly prepared and served. The pork belly was nicely cooked with very crunchy skin. The lamb rump portions were generous but the texture of the meat in the mouth was different from most lamb we have had. Service - the service was nice and efficient, starting from the nice young man at the bar to the wait staff.

Food was excellent but expect high end Auckland prices on the food. Service was okay but we did go when they were packed out. Booking ahead seems to be essential. Nice ambiance and not too loud which was good.
My wife and I visited Olivers to celebrate her 60th birthday and sat at a table overlooking the main street of Clyde, which is pretty quiet at 7pm in early November. What a nice spot to take in the last of the sun as it dropped in the sky. It created a nice ambience as we enjoyed the food, the service, and a very nice meal. Although quiet outside, Olivers seemed to have the entire town inside, but this in no way spoiled the experience. We waited possibly a little longer than usual, but we weren't left feeling forgotten. When our meals arrived my wife's knife almost fell through the ribeye steak under its own weight, while my venison was cooked perfectly with its accompanying vege turning up some pleasant taste surprises. Even without a special occasion to celebrate, Olivers is a great place to dine in.

It was outstanding. The meal was superb and despite being very busy the food was excellent!
Of you want to dive into Victorian times, feel the vibe of the New Zealand gold rush and be accompanied by great food and beer look to further. This Boutique venue offsets all that and the test!
Really great service and wonderful interior. We got here just as they were closing down the restaurant to prep for dinner service. It was very busy but totally well run. Enjoyed the papardelle pasta, sausage roll, and breakfast so flavorful! We really enjoyed the pasta since it was freshly made and had numerous pieces of sun dried tomato. The hashbrowns were particularly crispy our favorite! Wonderful stop on a road trip. The stone buildings and historic feel of the town was definitely on display. Would be a great filming destination, methinks! All the woggles our pet names for kids! were also clearly having a great time with their families. Excited to come back and enjoy dessert next time.
