Smallish underwhelming Sunday market near Kingston foreshore. Went there as we always visit a market at any new city in our travels. Few food stalls including bakery items, artisan & handicrafts stalls, plants etc. We bought a few bakery items for breakfast, they were ok. If you are in the area & want to support local business, worth a quick visit.
Hadn't been for a while and it is so sad to see it a shadow of it's former vibrant self. Empty space abounds and there are not many food choices. We chose Jordan and it was very bland. Quite a few disinterested stall holders who were unable to look up from their mobiles, didn't add to the experience. Very disappointing.
Personally, markets are not something I would do myself. But Wifey wanted to go. Pleasantly surprised. Something for everyone. And I got to snack on the most yummy pretzel I have had. Ample parking. Facilities were great.
I’ve wanted to visit for a few years since moving closer. There’s been many good reviews on social media so I was expecting more. It’s mostly vendors selling their creative jewellery they were all beautiful. 1 selling fruit n vegetables, maybe 2 or 3 selling food, meh. Thought prices were a little on the higher side compared to other markets. Very good entertainment from singer/guitarist. Easy to walk around market, free parking available out the back on empty gravelled lot. Hoping in time there’ll be more vendors selling food, hot/cold drinks, desserts, ice cream, cakes, pastries, fruit n vegetables, trinkets, bags etc
Interesting markets, lots of unique food cuisines such as Jordanian and Ethiopian which was very intriguing. Would highly recommend it to people of any age. There was lots of wheelchair access and overall it was a good experience, however I was quite unsure of what to expect prior to the visit.
