A great little place in Coorparoo, for quick, fresh, delicious sushi. Oishii Sushi Express, offers an extensive selection of "dine in", or "takeaway" tasty meals - at very reasonable prices. Their point of difference is the warm, friendly, positive customer service. Which is one of the reasons why I keep coming back. Opening hours are fantastic, 9.30am to 8.30pm, Monday to Saturday. Perfect for time deprived local families, hungry school kids waiting for the bus outside, busy office workers, construction crews, and young professionals just wanting a healthy quick meal, on their way home from the gym. The food is always presented and plated beautifully, which is a nice experience considering the value of the meal. Do try their fusion sushi rolls, which are delicious and very filling, I can recommend the "Alaska" @ $13. The ladies are super helpful and accomodating, if you can't find your favourite sushi filling - do ask, as they will make it for you. If you need sushi in larger volumes, they do offer party pack catering, so once again, don't hesitate to ask. As the name suggests, it's more of an express pick up and takeaway kind of spot, they do have a few tables with window seating too. They are situated in a very busy spot, a few metres down from the intersection of Cavendish and Old Cleveland Rds, directly opposite the new cinema complex "Coorparoo Square. There is a bus stop directly outside, so ease of direct parking is an issue. I usually find a park in nearby Kitchener St without any problems. If you need an ATM, Westpac bank is right next door, with underground customer car parking. Woolworths Coorparoo, and Terry White Chemist are close by if you need to combine a few extra shopping opportunities. The menu is not limited to sushi, they also have a great selection of rice and noodle dishes too. All the favourite classics, miso soup, chicken katsu don curry, gyoza dumplings, tempura and spicy bbq pork.
Their freshly made sushi was delicious! We'll definitely be going back, to work our way through the menu. Photographed is the Alaska and Sunshine fusion rolls.
Came in shortly before closing. Sushi here was delicious, especially the one with egg roll wrap. Takoyaki was great too. It was all fresh and tasty. Definitely coming here again, one of the best sushi places I've been to
Ordered a chicken udon noodle dish for lunch today - the bowl of udon soup came out piping hot & the accompanying crumbed chicken side dish made for a very delicious meal. This is my 2nd visit - previous beef rice dish I had was also superb! Appropriately priced. Excellent service also. Agree with all the other positive reviews. This place should be humming along more. Highly recommended!
Pathetic in cleanliness. Got a vege tempura shushi roll for my hungry daughter they charged $4 for a single roll, way too much. Just put the tempura in rice and rolled it. No carrot or cucumber no fresh vegetables. When I asked the girl on the counter, she said that’s what we give and turned her rude face other way. Very much offended by the customer service. Don’t want this place to exist as no one deserves this king of attitude.
Why is this place not pumping. I love Japanese food and this place always comes to mind for a quick meal after work, or a impromptu meal with a friend. I can't think of a reason to take off even one star. I haven't tried the Sushi though. I always order a a tasty bowl off the menu.
One of my favourite sushi places in Brisbane. It's often forgotten about or overlooked because of its location, so it's never been busy any of the dozen-plus times I've been there.
Oishi indeed! Best sushi rolls I had in a while. Perfect small side street food stall ambience. Will definitely come back for a snack and more whenever I'm in that corner of town.
Been here the last 2 days in a row. The sushi is always fresh and beautiful. The service is also very friendly. Would recommend to anyone
After past recommendation on the fusion rolls, I have to agree the one I had Alaska was just the bomb. So fresh and made in front of you. Takoyaki octopus balls was nice but vegetable tempura was a bit of a let down. Prices are very affordable
