Very disappointed with the vegan options. Was excited to see a vegan menu. However, paying $25 for the large deluxe set was a waste of money. It was only tofu, 2 sushi and salads. I do not understand how it is a deluxe set and much less large serving. Very stingy. Cheap ingredients. Vegan curry rice was alright but no wow factor. Just average curry. Disappointing.
New favorite Japanese restaurant!nnWe have been here a couple of times, and the food is always fresh and delicious.nI love the cozy vibes the shop gives off, and the service is always lovely too :nReally impressed — we will definitely be coming back!nnThank you Ohnamiya Applecross :
The deluxe Agedashi tofu box is delicious. I requested a vegetarian option with no chicken/meat or fish, I was made a very tasty sliced tofu skin salad with a satay style sauce as a substitute.nnThank you for accommodating my meat free request!
I hope the owner of this restaurant will have the balls to speak up for other customers when kids running around and disturbing others who is dining in. It is very unpleasant to hold our frustrations when kids running around and throwing toys all over the place when the parents don’t even care! There were a family of four outside wanting to dine in but when they saw the kids causing chaos they walk away. I hope the owner will say something to the parents next time. This is a restaurant, not a day care or playground. I don’t enjoy dining tonight.
A long time family fave. Our now adult children still compare other Japanese places to this one.nnConsistently good food. Expanded with other nearby locations, which was great as the Applecross restaurant is closed on Sunday evening.
