We are youth specialists assisting Gold Coast teenagers to reconnect with education, employment or just life in general.
Ohana For Youth is a non-profit organisation that evolved from a genuine need within three small independent schools on the Gold Coast who joined forces to set up a program which would provide more industry exposure for their students.
Originally established under the name of SCISCO the founders were successful in seeking funding, establishing a management committee and then recruiting the first
employee who started in January 1997.
We currently employ a team of 32 youth specialists who help hundreds of young people each year to transition successfully into employment, training, alternative learning or further education.
Our teams success relies on the strong partnerships we have with more than 35 secondary schools as well as numerous youth and community organisations and government departments.
Our organisation name was recently changed to Ohana For Youth as of November 2012. We continue to maintain our strong commitment to engaging young people into education, employment and everyday life. This is reflected in the Ohana (family) culture within our organisation.
